    Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 13

“Good evening Miss.  Where would you like me to put this?”

Lyndsay indicated that it would be fine over by the dining table, so the staff member wheeled the cart over to the designated spot.  Lyndsay signed the bill, tipped the waiter and closed the door.

    “Sorry, Car I’m back.”

    “So that wasn’t her?”

“No, it wasn’t.  I guess I really did mess this up.  I’m sure she’s not coming.”

“Well, are you sure she got your message?”

“Yes, I’m pretty sure her assistant would have given it to her.”

“I’m sorry Lynds, I really wanted this to work out for you.”

“Thanks, me too.  Listen I’m going to let you go ok.  I’ll see you when I get back in a few days.”

“OK, but you know you can call me anytime, day or night if you need anything right?  Even if you just want to talk.”

“Yes, I know that.  Thanks for your support, it means a lot.  Good night.”

    “Night, Lynds.”

Not really knowing what to do next, Lyndsay grabbed her coat, purse and room key, then headed out the door.  As she waited for the elevator, a tear slid down her cheek as she thought to herself, ‘well what did you think she would do after you left the way you did’.

She really had blown it big time.  The doors opened and she stepped onto the elevator.  Pressing the button for the lobby, she stood waiting as the doors closed and she began her descent.

As the doors closed on her elevator car, the bell rang to indicate that the other elevator car was about to stop on her floor and open it’s doors.  As they did, Angelica stepped off, glanced back at her watch and headed for room 809.  The time read 7:30PM.  She was a half hour late. Cursing as she approached the door, she raised her hand and knocked.

    No answer.

She knocked again, this time calling out “Lyndsay, are you in there.  If you are, I’m sorry I’m late, please come and open the door.”

    Still there was no answer.

Just then a member of the housekeeping staff was walking by.  “If you are looking for Ms Adams, she is not in there.  I saw her leave about 5 minutes ago.”

    1. Much love to you. I also know this grief. Take care and keep writing. Stay with us, we care. Now LA, Ms Lyndsay should have just sat tight; she’s a bit impatient don’t you think? My mom always told me, sit still…wait…I’ll find you…Lyndsay is too busy torturing herself and Angie and us.arohanui taku hoa, paimarire. [love to you my friend, peace]

    2. Taz, I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. Having been there I know how difficult it can be. But, we must live with the knowledge that our life is better for having known the person for however long they are in our lives, then to not have known them at all. Yout take care. Love the update, and so cannot believe you left us hanging again.

    3. We all feel your pain, most of us has been where you are now. Take care and write, that is what your friend would want you to do. Lyndsay really needed to wait a wee bit longer. thanks PPS

    4. I am sending out positive energy and love to you and your friend. I too know this grief and it is not easy. You are so right to be comforted in the love and great memories of your friend, I believe it is God’s way of helping us move foward in peace. Now to the story. You are soooo wrong for leaving us hanging yet again. I hope that these two star crossed lovers actually hook up and talk in the next chapter. MUch love and peace :o).

    5. I am sorry for your loss. Hopefully, this quote will bring you some comfort. “People always come into your life for a reason, a season and a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, or to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually. They may seem like a godsend to you, and they are. They are there for a reason, you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die, Sometimes they just walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season. And like Spring turns to Summer and Summer to Fall, the season eventually ends.LIFETIME, relationships teach you a lifetime of lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway);, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas in your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.”God Bless.

    6. Taz, I’m very sorry about your friend. I know what that kind of loss is like to that horrible disease. I’m glad she touched your life like she did, I read The Ripple Effect and was very touched by it. I think that you are doing an amazing job with this story too and can’t wait for your next update. Take care of yourself…it’s always hardest for the ones left behind.

    7. I’m sorry to hear of your loss. I lost a close friend to cancer a couple of years ago, so I know what you are going through. Sounds like your friend was a special person. Oh, and thanks for the update on this story.

    8. I’m so sorry about the loss of your friend. I was psyched when I saw that you had left us an update…this is one of my favorites.I hope that the girls catch up with one another.

    9. On a personal note, I understand the grief that you feel with the loss of your friend. You honor her by living your life to the fullest. As for the story, I have really enjoyed it and look forward to your next post. jinjur

    10. My dear friend, a post during what has been the most difficult time is just so you. You thinking of others before yourself. It’s true we have shared an incredible amount in the last several months, and though we will share many more, I would never have wanted it to be any other way. I hold close to my heart the chance to have met D through your words, your memories, your fears, etc. As I’ve told you before, that ripple continues on long after the what started it disappears. We spoke extensively about what azmama had shared, and somewhere WAY back I had posted them in my author notes. Hold onto that, and know that concept is a deep and accurate one in this journey called life.As for the story, you certainly have raised my blood pressure a little bit. Once Lynds had gone in one elevator while Ange was coming out of the other, I was like “NO!!!!” You stir a lot of emotions in your writing, and like it or not, you ARE a success. ; – ) Love and Hugs to you and P. xo

    11. Tazzie, please receive our most sincere condolences on the loss of your dearest friend. She sure is in a better place now and her pain did come to an end. Just keep in mind that her memory will always remain alive next to your heart. We know it is hard to cope with such grief. But be sure that what your dearest friend would have wanted is that you remember her with a smile. Our prayers are with you and your special friend.- As for the story, hope that Angie and Lindsay may clear the clouds of doubt that have filled their paths and that they might be able to find the proper way to reconcile their feelings.
