    Angelica & The Artist 2 – Chapter 7

    “But Daddy…..”

    “Lyndsay, let me finish…..please.”

    “Sorry, Daddy.”

“Sweetheart you have always had our support in everything that you have pursued, and I don’t expect that this latest revelation will change anything.”

Barb continued “Lynds, I don’t know that I have ever seen you happier than you have been these past months. I don’t like that you live so far away in New York, but you are happy and that’s all that matters to your Dad and I.”

Lyndsay looked at both her parents. She knew how lucky she was to have this support from them. She missed them terribly as well, but Angie made her feel complete, and she knew her future was with her. Getting up form her chair she walked over and hugged both of her parents.

Carolyn watched the scene play out before her. She had not been as lucky to have grown up in a family as close as Lyndsay’s, but she had always been made to feel like one of the family so she quickly moved over to join in the embrace saying “Hey don’t forget about me.”

The four shared a laugh as she moved closer to join the group hug. She really was like another daughter to the MacKenzie’s and they would never exclude her from anything important like this.

Barb pulled away from the hug and walked over to the desk where she grabbed a pad of paper and a pen, then returned to the table.

“Well, if we are going to be having a wedding then we better start making a list of things that need to be done. When were you planning on having the wedding? I’m thinking June would be nice, June is always such a beautiful time here in North Carolina. David do you think we could get the club? I wonder if they have any dates still available?”

Carolyn also added her thoughts, “the dress, we have got to start shopping for a dress. You are planning to wear a dress right Lynds? Were you thinking something elegant, like a ball gown style, or maybe more like an evening dress?”

Lyndsay just stared in disbelief. Was her Mom and Carolyn really suggesting that they start planning the wedding now….right there at the kitchen table?
