    Bette and Tina’s first date

    “I was thinking the same “

     

    “Eh “Bette looked slightly shamefaced “Dan picked the top”

     

    “And the rest? “

     

    “I picked the rest “

     

    “They picked all of it – down to my bra and pants “

     

    Bette burst out laughing

     

    “So much for our kids not approving “

     

    “I was very almost told that I am not as smart as I might be “

     

    “Josh called me a wuss “

     

     

     

    They reached the restaurant which Tina had heard of but never been to – she was the Chinese food addict not Ollie. It looked really nice – Bette held the door open for her, once they were inside Bette caught the attention of a waiter with great ease.

     

    They were shown to a comfortable booth in a secluded corner with a great view of the rest of the diners. Tina sat facing Bette

     

    “This is a date Ms Porter “

     

    Bette laughed “I know “

     

     

    She took hold of Tina’s hand and stroked it – her eyes holding Tina’s.

     

     

    “I never thought I’d date again but – I can’t get you out of my head Tina “

     

    “I know you still are in love with your wife “

     

    Tina had thought a lot about dating Bette and the biggest complication she knew they would face was not from the kids who all got on well or their friends who had assimilated great or from Ollie who was just delighted Tina was moving on with her life – but from the ghost of Bette’s wife.

     

     

    Bette stared into Tina’s eyes – she had never realised just how beautiful her eyes were. Bette looked down at her hand gently exploring Tina’s hand before looking up at the blonde

     

     

    “Tina – we both know that she is going to be an issue at some point in our relationship but right now I am thinking about you and you alone. We do need to talk about her – you have questions I guess and I want to be up front and honest with you but tonight is our first date “

    12. Well, as long as they got a secluded table. They can still go to a French restaurant eventually. And I think Bette & Tina ought to go camping alone a time or two before taking the kids along. Not much privacy in a Winnebago. Even less in a tent-reminds me of the time I was a kid camping with my parents and the young couple retired to their tent for the night bringing their lantern with them. The eventually realized that they were putting on a silhouette striptease for the campground before they doused the light.

    16. GOD, Ally! You should’ve rated that as a mental R or NC-17. That has to be one of the hottest first dates I’ve ever read. Oh and I noticed this: “Lets see what we can manage eh – we are two college educated writers – how hard can it be not to talk about our six kids?” OUR six kids hmmmmmmm??? ;) Maybe I just took it the wrong way but it sounded sweet. =) LOL@Josh calling Bette a wuss!

    19. Hi Ally, More wonderful writing as Bette and Tina embark on relationship together. There was gentle teasing, lustful looks, genuine connection and the beginnings of love. I adored the sharing of their dessert. This was such an intimate act and demonstrated the potential of there is to come. Ruling out past partnerships and kids was a smart move as it let them get to know one another without the shackles of the past. Please continue with the rest of this amazing night soon.
