    A crush, a meeting then love?? – Chapter 49

Bette walks with Sarah towards the parking lot. There she waits for Tina. Sarah is waiting for Jack.

“I’m happy for her. It finally seems to go somewhere.” Sarah says looking at Bette.

“Yeah, she needs this.” Bette says, smiling back at Sarah, and then turning her attention back to Tina.

“She’s lucky to have you.” Sarah says.

    Bette turns again. She smiles.

“I’m lucky to have her too.” Bette states.

“Yeah, you are both lucky to have found your soul mate.” Sarah replies.

    Bette smiles over at Sarah.

“Sarah, I have to say thank you for coming around. It has meant so much to Tina, you have no idea. She has become almost a different person, since you, Chris and Kathleen came back into her life. She’s more open and smiles more, not that she didn’t before, but I don’t know.” Bette says.

Jack turns towards Tina, still holding her hand. Tears are occupying his eyes.
She looks at him, with a loving and sad look. She knew he wanted to speak, so she didn’t say anything. And finally he opens up.

“I hate myself.” He says, looking right into Tina’s eyes.

“Why?” Tina asks. She wasn’t going to make this easy on him. She wanted to make sure he did it for real, that he really means it.

“I don’t want to be an angry, lonely old man.” He replies.

“I’m sure you won’t be. I’ll be here, but I’m not alone dad. I have Bette, and you have to accept her, us. I’m going to spend the rest of my life with her. She’s my family, as well as you, Chris and Sarah.” Tina says.

“I know.” He replies. I don’t know if I can accept you to be with women, but I will respect your choice, I won’t stand in the way.” He says.

“What about Christmas or Thanksgiving dad?” Tina asks.

“She’s welcome here anytime.” He replies.

“Are you sure about that?” Tina asks. “Because, if you are mean or making comments towards her, then we’re through. I will not let you hurt her the way you all hurt me.” Tina adds, looking straight into her dad’s eyes. She is able to hold the tears back.

“I’m not able to say sorry, I’m not there yet. But I will give you my word that I will work on myself every day from now on. I know asking you to wait, is a lot to ask, but I hope you will.” Jack says.

“I will, because I know now that you will try. I know this lifestyle, in your eye are wrong, but to me it’s natural, I’m in love with Bette, just like you were in mom. And I hope that one day you’ll be able to see that love, and recognize it as what it is.” Tina says, as a tear falls down her cheek.

She looks away and towards the parking lot. She sees Bette there, talking to Sarah.

“Maybe we should go. There are people at home, waiting.” Tina says.

Jack just nods his head. They start walking towards the cars.

“Dad, I have to say something.” Tina starts.

    “What?” He asks.

“I’m not going to hide my feelings for Bette in front of you. If you don’t like it, just look away. We are in an open relationship. We are not going to hide our feelings for each other.” Tina says in a sharp, but gently voice.

    “I understand.” Jack replies.

    They walk up to them.

“Dad, I would like you to meet my fianc, Bette Porter.” Tina says and steps closer to Bette, and put her arm around Bette’s waist.

“Hi, Mr. Kennard, nice to meet you. I wish there was under different circumstances.

“Hi, Jack Kennard.” He says, giving her a vague smile. “May I ask what your intentions are, in marrying my daughter?” Jack asks.

Both Bette and Tina are taken by surprise, but Bette replies quickly.

“I’m gonna love her and honor her till the day I die.” Bette replies.

Tina smiles, she leans in and plants a soft kiss on Bette’s lips. Jack looks down.

    2. oh my..beautiful..im so glad papa kennard did this it means a lot to Tina..but he still have to change a lot of things..now give us some happy and love moments and wedding plains..lol..amazing chapter Lauren as always :o)

    3. Love this story, Lauren. Hope things keep going well, for the Kennards and one Ms. Bette Porter. Sad that Tina’s mom had passed, but for some it takes something tragic like this for them to put aside their petty differences and try to get along. I’ll be waiting for more posts.

    4. This story just keep getting better. Its too bad about Tina’s mom, but their is some comfort hopefully for Tina that she at least got to speak with her again. Her dad sounds like a tuff old man, who’s at least willing to give it a try and thats all you can really ask for. Now come on, wedding, golfing, sex, onward.

    5. Lauren…that was a sweet and sad chapter. Tina’s father seems to be a man of his word, so let’s hope he learns to accept Tina & Bette’s relationship. I’m glad Tina’s efforts to regain her family is working out for her. Bette is standing by Tina during this hard time and Tina loves her more for it. They should be happy…let’s hope they get some happiness soon. Thanks for the chapter…

    6. I have really been enjoying your story, but sometimes I am so pressed for time that I can’t stop to comment. I haven’t missed a chapter from the beginning though! I loved them all. This was a very sensitive one. I am glad Tina is standing up to her father. I hope he will learn to accept their relationship fully soon. Looking forward to what’s next. Post soon.
