    A crush, a meeting then love?? – Chapter 49

“Hey Sarah.” Tina says as she gets out of the car.

“Tina, hi. Hi Bette.” She replies smiling.

Sarah walks up to Tina and gives her a hug, and then she gives Bette a hug.

“Have you talked to dad after the other day?” Tina asks.

“No, but Chris have. He hadn’t said anything.” Sarah replies.

Tina’s eyes immediately look sad. Bette notices it and put her arm around Tina’s waist, pulling her close and kisses her forehead.

“Come on.” Bette says softly. They walk towards the church and then inside.

An hour later the service in the church were finished. The thing left is taking the casket into the ground.

Jack had glanced over at Tina several times.

Tina did not look at him. She was not going to make this easy on him.

The priest is speaking. All the Kennard siblings are crying. Bette is standing beside Tina, holding her. There was a lot of family that Tina also hadn’t seen in years, like cousins and aunts and uncles. She used to be close to her mother’s sister, Elizabeth, but that contact also stopped when Tina moved away. Elizabeth had the same views as her sister.

Tina had glanced over to her a few times, Elizabeth had smiled weakly at her.

Jack is starting to tear up. He wants so much to be strong, not let everyone see his emotions, but at this moment he seems to fail. One single tear escapes and find its way down his cheek. Tina glanced over at him at that moment and saw the tear. She looks at him closely. She sees that he’s struggling. She squeezes Bette’s hand softly, and looks at her. She tilts her head towards Jack so Bette could see. Bette looks over. Tina lets go of Bette’s hand, she slowly walks over to her father, and she stops beside him, and carefully takes his hand. She doesn’t say anything, she just holds his hand. He doesn’t let go, which let Tina’s heart calm a bit down.

Bette stands a few feet away, and smiles with tears in her eyes as she watches her T, yet again reaching out to her father. And this time it seems to be working.

30 minutes later, the funeral is over. Tina is still holding her fathers hand. They haven’t talked to each other, but the silence says it all.

    2. oh my..beautiful..im so glad papa kennard did this it means a lot to Tina..but he still have to change a lot of things..now give us some happy and love moments and wedding plains..lol..amazing chapter Lauren as always :o)

    3. Love this story, Lauren. Hope things keep going well, for the Kennards and one Ms. Bette Porter. Sad that Tina’s mom had passed, but for some it takes something tragic like this for them to put aside their petty differences and try to get along. I’ll be waiting for more posts.

    4. This story just keep getting better. Its too bad about Tina’s mom, but their is some comfort hopefully for Tina that she at least got to speak with her again. Her dad sounds like a tuff old man, who’s at least willing to give it a try and thats all you can really ask for. Now come on, wedding, golfing, sex, onward.

    5. Lauren…that was a sweet and sad chapter. Tina’s father seems to be a man of his word, so let’s hope he learns to accept Tina & Bette’s relationship. I’m glad Tina’s efforts to regain her family is working out for her. Bette is standing by Tina during this hard time and Tina loves her more for it. They should be happy…let’s hope they get some happiness soon. Thanks for the chapter…

    6. I have really been enjoying your story, but sometimes I am so pressed for time that I can’t stop to comment. I haven’t missed a chapter from the beginning though! I loved them all. This was a very sensitive one. I am glad Tina is standing up to her father. I hope he will learn to accept their relationship fully soon. Looking forward to what’s next. Post soon.
