“Tell me what?” said the girl. By this time, Kyla was back.

“I guess I’ll tell her now then.” Madison said, giving Ashley a look. “Yeah, so, Sherry, babe, you know we love you right?” Madison asked as some of the other girls murmured in agreement. “But lately, we’ve noticed a lack of effort in you performance.”

“What the fuck? A lack of effort? I bust my butt trying to come up with new routines for this squad.” Sherry said as she frowned, looking like she was on the verge of tears.

“There has also been a drop in your grades. And you know we just can’t have a failing girl on the team.” Madison continued.

“You call a C a failing grade? Ashley gets D’s and F’s all the time! What do you call that?” Sherry said, nearly shouting. Spencer noticed the way that Ashley’s jaw tensed at that. Spencer wished that she had a bag of popcorn right about now.

“It’s not about me though.” Ashley said, jumping in the conversation. “It’s about you being a sorry cheerleader with failing grades. They’re not a good combination. It just so happens that you have both.” She took a step forward towards Sherry. Spencer felt that maybe she should leave, but she was rooted to the spot.

“Let it go.” Madison said as she pulled Ashley back by her shirt. A very expensive looking shirt, Spencer might add. “Bottom line is…” Madison started. “You’re off the team Sherry.”

“But hey! You can try out again next year.” Said Kyla, as she rubbed Sherry’s back, comfortingly. “There’s always next year.”

“But for now…” Ashley started. Spencer had a feeling that she was about to say something wrong. “You can go sit over there with the tree of co-captain’s past.” She said, pointing to the tree where Carmen was sitting, with one other girl now.

Damn, that was kind of harsh. Spencer looked at Carmen in surprise. She didn’t mention anything about that to Spencer, but then again, why would she? They had just met less than an hour ago. Sherry left without saying another word.

“Back to that co-captain position.” Madison said. “As you know, we now have a spot open.” Spencer was surprised that they had snapped back so quick from the incident. It seemed kind of fucked up to her, but hey, she didn’t have anything to lose.

“Why don’t you show us what you’ve got? We don’t have to go to class till another hour.” Ashley smiled as Spencer met her eyes.

“You can borrow some of my P.E. clothes.” Madison offered. Spencer raised her eyebrows and looked her up and down.

Ashley chuckled as she noticed what Spencer was doing. “I think she’s trying to say that all of that, and all of that, won’t fit her.” She said, pointing to Madison’s boobs and butt. Madison chuckled and smirked.

“I guess you’re right huh?” Madison said, looking Spencer up and down. It kind of reminded her of Glen.

“Don’t worry babe. I got you covered.” Ashley said to Spencer as she followed them into the locker room. Damn, the day had just started…
