    Spencer pressures Ashley.

    “Come on…” Spencer urged.

    “I want kids with you, ok? You know that. But I don’t want to feel pressured into it and I don’t want to feel like you’re rushing things just to trap me.”

    “You think I want to trap you?”

    Ashley shook her head, “That’s not what I meant.”

    “Then what did you mean exactly?”

    “I don’t know.”

    “Nice,” Spencer replied, stepping out of the shower.

    Ashley didn’t waste time. She quickly turned off the running water and followed behind the blonde as she walked—still nude—into the room.

    “Spence, listen…”

    “No, you listen! I thought that by getting married we would avoid these kinds of fights from now on but I guess I was wrong. I’m not trying to trap you…”

    “I know. I’m sorry. I don’t know why…” Ashley interrupted.

    “Stop!” Spencer yelled, frustrated and hurt by how quickly things had changed, “I’m not trying to trap you. And I don’t ever want you to feel trapped. I want a baby with you because I think we’re ready and because I can’t imagine anything more beautiful than seeing you as a mother.”

    “But why can’t we wait awhile? We just got married. Shouldn’t we give ourselves some time to get used to marriage before moving onto something as difficult as parenting?”

    “But I’m so ready…”

    “And I’m just not.”

    “I’ve been on and off with you for over a decade now. I’ve given us plenty of time to figure things out.”

    “That’s right, on and off. That’s not exactly the kind of stability a kid needs. Trust me, I’ve been there and I have years of therapy to show for it.”

    Spencer collapsed backward on the bed, hypocritically gearing up to give the silent treatment as well. She wanted children with Ashley more than she wanted anything else in the entire world. And she felt as though it was beyond the right time to do it. She knew that they weren’t exactly settled into married life yet, but couldn’t they do that while they tried to get pregnant?

    “Spencer,” Ashley said, sitting next to her on the bed, “I’m sorry if I hurt you, but it’s important to me that I’m completely ready when I bring a child into the world, ok? You had this really all-American, normal upbringing so to you the idea of parenting comes naturally. It’s not like that with me. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.”

    2. That was such a low blow for Spencer to threaten to end the relationship if Ash concede to having a baby right away. Thankfully Arthur made things okay again when Ashley talked to him. Of course, now you leave us with a huge cliffhanger. Who’s on the phone? I’m really gonna miss this story when it’s over but I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

    3. Did you have to write so much drama on their honeymoon? Of course, you did, you’re a writer! LOL! Ashley can be a pain in the ass…she didn’t have to snap so harshly when Spencer mentioned children and according to her response she definitely isn’t ready for children because she herself still acts like a child, they both do. You’re a magnificently talented writer and I’m in agreement with yahtzeeguru, you should do a sequel with them starting a family or after they already have children. Amazing story and I love it! PMS

    7. I can’t believe your going to end one of my fav stories. sad times. I don’t see how you can end this story like that. please don’t end it on a cliff hanger. this story has sooooooo many different possibilities for it still.

    8. i agree with dallas1111…they are both still so immature and new to this marriage thing…they should wait to bring a child into it…if they are not ready…this child could make more of a strain…so..kudos to ashley for wanting to wait..and to arthur who thankfully, straightened out the problem…..now, who could be on the phone….i wonder…Awesome post..can’t wait to read more..pms
