    Spencer pressures Ashley.

    “I don’t know,” Spencer replied, looking around the nearly empty café, “but remind me not to let you be the one to teach our kids about patience, k?”

    “Oh come on, Spence. Don’t start that shit right now.”

    Spencer sat back a little, caught off guard, “What shit?”

    “You always do this, you know? We just got married a couple days ago and you’re back to the fucking…whatever, I just don’t want to hear it right now.”

    “Whoa, where is this coming from?”

    “What do you mean?”

    “Exactly what I said! Where is this coming from? Because if I remember correctly, you said in your vows that you wanted a family with me, Ashley!”

    The brunette glanced around. The few actual patrons were all looking in their direction, “Spence, do you mind? People are staring.”

    “Let them stare.”

    “I don’t want to have this conversation right now.”

    “Of course not.”

    Just then, the waitress emerged with a smile, “So, do you two know what you want?”

     

     

    What did she want? Ashley was confused, and as she stood in the shower under the constant stream of water she realized she didn’t know what to do. She wanted a family with Spencer, that wasn’t even in question. What bothered her was the rush. Lately it seemed as though Spencer was in a hurry to do everything and Ashley wondered where this desperation was coming from. It wasn’t as though anyone’s biological clock was ticking or that there was a risk of future financial strain. For the first time in a long time, they seemed to be in the clear. So why ruin it?

    “Ash…”

    She hadn’t even heard the door, but before she knew it, Spencer was standing behind her, naked and frowning, “I think we should talk.”

    “Right now? I’m sorta in the middle of something.”

    “Yeah, and you’ve been in the middle of it for the past forty minutes.”

    “What can I say? I’m a dirty, dirty girl,” Ashley said, forcing a laugh.

    Spencer’s face remained solemn, “What’s going on with you, Ashley? We’re married now. We can’t do this high school silent treatment thing anymore. I don’t want to. If something is bothering you, you have to let me know.”

    Ashley couldn’t maintain eye contact with the blonde, instead choosing to stare at the ring on her finger.

    2. That was such a low blow for Spencer to threaten to end the relationship if Ash concede to having a baby right away. Thankfully Arthur made things okay again when Ashley talked to him. Of course, now you leave us with a huge cliffhanger. Who’s on the phone? I’m really gonna miss this story when it’s over but I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

    3. Did you have to write so much drama on their honeymoon? Of course, you did, you’re a writer! LOL! Ashley can be a pain in the ass…she didn’t have to snap so harshly when Spencer mentioned children and according to her response she definitely isn’t ready for children because she herself still acts like a child, they both do. You’re a magnificently talented writer and I’m in agreement with yahtzeeguru, you should do a sequel with them starting a family or after they already have children. Amazing story and I love it! PMS

    7. I can’t believe your going to end one of my fav stories. sad times. I don’t see how you can end this story like that. please don’t end it on a cliff hanger. this story has sooooooo many different possibilities for it still.

    8. i agree with dallas1111…they are both still so immature and new to this marriage thing…they should wait to bring a child into it…if they are not ready…this child could make more of a strain…so..kudos to ashley for wanting to wait..and to arthur who thankfully, straightened out the problem…..now, who could be on the phone….i wonder…Awesome post..can’t wait to read more..pms
