No Longer Roommates, But Mates. – (Chapter: “Don’t You Trust Me?”)

    Ashley’s POV:

I wasn’t surprised to hear Spencer’s mom object to us getting married. You could say I anticipated that. But what I didn’t expect was for Aiden to show up. I stiffened, remembering our last confrontation. How he had attacked me and Spencer simply because our relationship meant cutting him out of the picture. I protectively put my arms around Spencer’s midsection, drawing her close to me. Spencer leaned a little into me. I could feel how tense she was too. “Mom, what’s he doing here.” Spencer said quietly. “I invited him.” Paula replied curtly. I knew it. Who else would do such a thing?

“Paula, what’s the meaning of this?” Mr. Carlin inquired. “Aiden wanted to see her, so I thought he had the right to come.” “What?!” Spencer said incredulously. “Mom, you didn’t even ask me.” “I thought it’d be good for you to remember what you lost, what you threw away, Spencer.” Paula snapped. ‘Spencer, I just wanted to see you again.” Aiden said, finally speaking up. It’d been 7 years since either of us had seen him. He looked haggard, and tired. Like a worn down, almost broken man. There was something pitiful about him. “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” She replied angrily. He grabbed her wrist as she turned to leave with me. “Spence.” he said softly. I whirled around. He didn’t just call her that. He didn’t just call her one of the names that I always call her whenever I tell her I love her, whenever I tell her good morning and good night, and whenever I play around with her. I bristled with jealousy and anger. “Don’t call me that.” She whispered to him. “Please. Don’t walk away.” He said in a wounded voice. “Can we at least talk?” “What is there to talk about, Aiden? You never said you wanted to be friends or anything. Now you get to me through my mother? What is it that you want?!” she cried. “Can we talk about it outside?” he asked, since we realized then that everyone was staring at us.

Spencer followed him silently outside to the patio, away from everyone, giving me a sorrowful look as she made her way out. I stood in the doorway as I watched them talk. I was worried; worried that he might do something to her. I still remember how hysterical and practically insane he was the last time we saw him. He acted like he wanted to hurt Spencer physically- to kill her almost, for leaving him. What did he want with her? What did he want with my baby? I wanted to run outside to her, to make sure she wasn’t being threatened in anyway, and to get her away from him. I couldn’t help but feel jealous; Spencer’s my lover, my soul mate, my one and only. I need to be with her, to feel her love for me, to make her happy, to see her smile, to wake up next to her. And most importantly, I need to love her back and protect her. I watched uneasily as they exchanged words. Spencer seemed to get more and more upset by each passing second, while Aiden looked like he was asking for something. Was it love?  Or perhaps a second chance between them? I felt my blood run cold as I thought about it. He probably was pleading for a second chance. No. How could he. It’d been 7 years. I clenched and unclenched my fists. Finally, Spencer stood up. Aiden grabbed her and pulled her in for a kiss. I stood there and watched in shock. I snapped. I sprinted outside, enraged that he had done that to her. I pulled him away from her and punched him square on the nose. Before he could recover, I caught him right in the left eye and delivered a swift kick to his crotch. “Ash-” “Not now, Spencer. We’re leaving.” I said angrily, yanking her by the arm out to the car.

    1. OMG! I was so mad when I read that Paula invited Aiden. She is so evil. It just made me want to scream. I was also mad at Spencer for agreeing to talk to him privately. I thought that it wasn’t right, especially without talk to Ashley first knowing that it would make her uncomfortable. She just didn’t say enough to her to reassure her before she went to talk to him. I would have felt like Ashley did too. Great stories…. Love them both, this and Roommates.

    2. paula never gives up does she, and to bring aiden to spence’s party after seven years of no contact with out asking first was so mean…ashley reaction was so off, being that mad, sure i agree she should have kicked the guys ass for kissing her fiancee but to drive fast, drink and get mad a spence is not right…pms

    3. yeah, cardinal sin here.. commenting oneself, but should i go off on a tangent and do a fanfic where Ashley’s some kind of superhero ?! or maybe it’s because i happen to have a fondness for smallville too ^^’

    4. Paula is a sorry excuse for a human being if I’ve ever seen one. Aiden runs a close second in line for that title. I certainly hope Ashley can wholeheartedly trust Spencer, because a relationship based on fear will automatically fail. I agree with AugustLove, Spencer really shouldn’t have given Aiden the time of day, especially by speaking to him privately. Excellent update! Please post again soon…plus an update for Roommates would be greatly appreciated, as well! :)

    5. That fag…ok…lol it was awsome that ash popped his ass like that cuz I’d so have done the same thing LOL of course spence’s mom is a bitch for pulling that shit, but this is definitely going places…PMS!!!!!!
