When we got back to our dorm we lay in bed naked and looked through my new Christmas gift from Clay. Ashley giggled throughout the whole timeline of my childhood and adolescent years that came to an abrupt conclusion after I was a freshman.
She flips the album back to the first page to a picture of my parents, Glen, and a baby me sitting in my mother’s lap at the hospital. She runs her fingertip over my bald head and chuckles a little.
Ashley: “You were very cute.” She says as she meets my eye.
Spencer: “Were?” I ask with a grin.
Ashley: “Are!” She counters before places a lingering kiss on my li
ps. She pulls away and scrutinizes the rest of my family. I watch her as her eyes narrow as she looks down at my mother, father, and Glen.
Spencer: “We didn’t get Clay until I was five.” I say to fill the uneasy silence. I can tell that she is unhappy as she examines the people that have disowned me.
Ashley: “Your parents look so young.”
Spencer: “Well they were eighteen when they married…” Oh fuck.
Ashley: “Eighteen, huh?” She asks me with her eyebrow raised. I walked right into that one.
Spencer: “Yes.” I barely mumble.
Ashley: “So…they were seventeen, and then they turned eighteen, and then they got married?” She uses a lot of comical hand gestures to drive her point home.
Spencer: “Uh huh.” I answer in a bored tone.
Ashley: “So to use it in a sentence: we could compare your parents to say…I don’t know, off the top of my head, on the spot, without any preconceived examples…us.” I narrow my eyes as a small grin makes its way across my lips.
Spencer: “For example.” I answer sarcastically.
Ashley: “Interesting, interesting. One may even say intriguing. Yes, curious, curious.” She flips through the book some more lazily.
Spencer: “Yeah, but they waited for marriage before having sex! Of course they married young!”
Ashley: “So is that what I have to do? Cut you off and then you’ll say yes?” She asks with a grin.
Spencer: “I think we’ve already been down this road, Ms. Davies, and I always come out the victor!” I smile triumphantly and she smirks back.

whoa.. so NEVER LOOKING AT A CONFESSIONAL THE SAME EVER EVER EVER AGAIN..great up date as usual , cant wait for SD! i thought it was funny how Principal Pimp spoke to them about the observatory and church. Love the Tat idea makes me wanna get another now :)
Whenever you update, my first instinct is to gobble it up and speed read until I get to the end. I then rein myself in, read slowly and savor each word… and how! I always run through the gamut of emotions in each of your chapters, that is what makes you such a fabulous writer. As I was reading Spencer say “…write her a strongly worded email?” I had just taken a sip of my coffee and I almost spit it out – that really cracked me up! Then when Spencer saw Ashley’s tattoo that pulled at my heartstring and just made me sigh. Don’t even get me started on the confessional scene! You are a GENIUS!!!
wow. if i could make a girl it would be ashley. i need to find a girl like that. this update was perfect as always
I’ve only admitted this to one other person but I to was caught having sex in a confessional. The gift of going to Catholic School. I love your stories and cant wait for the update for SD. So keep em coming

ok, all gushing aside, since you already know how much i love you :), i will tell you what i specifically loved about this installment: i loved the “dulcissima.” i googled it right away and actually ended up seeing a video on youtube of a song by that title. it was… inspiring and captivating. i now want to learn latin more than ever :) i also love how ashley goes toe-to-toe with spencer in their flirting, but then unexpectedly admits defeat with a sincere remark that shows the depth of her love for spencer. she does this throughout the story and it really reveals her true character. i agree with taymm15- i would love to practice a little “weird science” and make me an ashley :) and like keepXmeXawake, i find myself reading slowly and repeatedly, reveling in the emotions of every scene. thanks again for another great post :) i dont know how near it is, but im already starting to dread the end of this story :( and jus so you know- if it were a book, id totally buy it :D
if I still went to church I would totally never look at that damn booth the same way EVER AGAIN! holy fucking shit that was brilliant. I was reading it going “they’re so doing in in the confessional aren’t they?” and sure enough! loved the tat addition. so adorable. lol fav line “This green bean casserole thingy is banging, Marge!” you have no idea how hard I laughed thru this entire update! then the ending?!?!? now that’s one hell of a gift! freaking brilliant! pms!

Okay I don’t know if it’s just me, but I want to see some drama like earlier in this story. But AMAZING update, like always. You definitely know how to make the reader feel like they’re there.
It was 3.45am here when I saw you’d posted…did it stop me reading. Hell no! I didn’t have the energy to comment tho’ so I’m back for seconds. What can I say that hasn’t been said before? I think I’ll just stick with ‘you’re a fucking god’ for now! I cannot believe how much sex these two have. I’m so jealous! The tattoo was touching and the revelation about Ash’s writing prowess gives her yet another level. Hmmm, I do enjoy stroking your ego!
