Los Angeles Breeds Forbidden Love – (Chapter: Six- Better Left Unsaid)

“Whatever Glen.” Spencer spoke, sinking down so she was laying on the couch with her feet on the arm rest. She needed time to absorb what happened, and her brother tolerance levels were dwindling.

Glen had spent enough time around his sister in the past few days to know she was in a bad mood, and he wasn’t exactly eager to get snapped at. “I’m going to go out and grab us a bite to eat, you need anything?” He felt confident leaving her alone for a short period of time, she’d been doing really well and he could tell she was going crazy from the lack of solitude.

“I’m fine.” Spencer muttered, already sounding half asleep. She wasn’t, but she knew he’d feel better leaving if he thought she was napping.

“Okay. Be back in a bit then.” He was as quiet as possible as he exited the home, his hands fumbling for his keys in his pocket as he marched his way to his car.

As soon as the door was shut, Spencer’s eyes snapped open. Studying the ceiling, she let her mind begin to take in the events of the day. Even though it had only been a short time ago, she could hardly recall the funeral. It was mostly just a blur of activity, with the occasional still shot thrown in. And that Ashley girl was a odd egg indeed. Spencer didn’t really know what to think of her any more. She’d seemed pretty two dimensional previously, but since her apology, she couldn’t help but see her in a different light. Ashley was a human being, whether she slept with her fiancé or not, and just realizing that was enough to add a whole new layer to the complexity of this situation.

Spencer was also a bit disturbed to hear about how long Sarah had been cheating. The night she’d taken her to the B&B was before they’d even become engaged. That meant that Sarah had been cheating on her when she proposed to her. Spencer was sickened by that thought. She couldn’t even comprehend how a person could be promising the rest of their life to someone while they couldn’t even keep up a monogamous relationship. It was a side to Sarah she’d never seen, at least she’d never allowed herself to see. As crude as it may sound, Spencer was beginning to see all of this as a blessing in disguise. She had a whole life ahead of her now, and it was time to get a fresh start.
