It’s never about what I wanted – (Chapter: Looking for Forgiveness)
With that Aiden hung up his cell phone and buried his face in his hands. Spencer made his way over to him and wrapped him in her arms.
“What happened Aiden?”
“I cheated, Spencer.”
The shock was evident on Spencer’s face and she immediately pulled out of the embrace she had on him and stood up rubbing her hands through her hair.
“What the fuck Aiden?”
She knew she was only making her friend feel worse but she had known Aiden and Madison her entire life, she was god-mother to their children for gods sake.
“The rep for Burkinghams came in today and with you and Ash both off and everyone else out of the office it was just the two us.” He let out a shaky breathe that he had been holding as he attempted to recount what had happened earlier in the day.
“Madison and I have been together since before we were old enough to understand what being ‘together’ meant. This morning with the rep, she was all over me just…….I’ve only ever been with Madison-”
“And that’s an excuse Adien?”
“No not an excuse Spencer, there’s no excuse for what I’ve done. After she and I…after we….I felt so disgusted with myself I threw up. I wanted to tell Madison, but I wanted to wait until I’d been able to think. The moment I got home and she looked at me she knew.”
Spencer knew how Madison must feel right now; hurt, angry, betrayed, alone, all the things she had been feeling.
“Please don’t look at me like that Spencer.”
With out realizing it Spencer had been looking down at Aiden like he was Ashley. In a sense they were the same and Spencer knew if she could not find it in her heart to forgive Ashley then there was a good chance Madison would not find it in her own to forgive Aiden.
“How do I get my family back Spencer?”
“I don’t know Aiden. You can apologize but that doesn’t mean Madi will listen. Her heart is broken
————–
She couldn’t get Spencer to listen. Ashley just wanted the chance to explain why she had broken both their hearts. To tell Spencer that she would spend the rest of their lives together fixing what she had broken.
How was Spencer to trust her, after everything put her through though?
It was going to take more then mere words to fix this. She was going to have to earn Spencer back. But how?
Ashley had been sitting in her car outside Spencer’s apartment since the blonde had asked her to leave more then three hours ago. Starting her car she pulled out of the parking lot and started driving, she didn’t realize where she was going until she was there.
She knocked with all the determination she had coursing through her body and when the door swung open she said the one thing almost no one had ever or would ever hear from Ashley Davies.
“I need your help.”
