I Could Never Forget About You – (Chapter: A date night?)

It’s Thursday, need I say more?

“So, have you called Kyla?” Haven’t even thought about it.

“Nope, don’t have her number.” I reply, spreading the sugar in my coffee.

“She figured, so uh…” He searches through his pocket and pulls out a piece of paper. “…She wrote it down.”

“Thanks.” I grab the paper out of his hands.

“You haven’t asked Ashley for it?” He asks.

Ah Ashley, the girl who I haven’t seen since the night at the carnival. If you haven’t yet noticed, I’m a little off today. I mean it’s not that we don’t want to talk to each other, it’s just…I’ve been busy.

    Okay fine, Ashley’s been busy.

I’m lucky if I even get a phone call.

“Um, no. Why would I?” I ask defensively.

“I…don’t know?” He looks at me confused.

“That would be weird.” I say. Really don’t you think it would be a little weird to ask Ashley for her sister’s phone number?

    Yeah, that’s what I thought.

                    “Yeah, actually…it would.”

“Yeah…” It’s too early to be talking. I don’t even understand why he wanted to make this little meeting earlier than usual.

Actually, you know what? He probably has a conference. Yeah, we’ll go with that.

“Have you seen her all this week?” He asks.

                    “No.” I reply somewhat disappointed.

Okay who am I kidding, extremely disappointed.

                    “Why not?”

“I’ve been busy.” I take a sip of my coffee, watching him over the rim of the mug. He’s smirking, he so doesn’t believe me.

“You mean she’s been busy.” He slinks back in his seat.

Why does everyone read me so damn well?

                    “Yeah…” I sigh.

The coffee house is empty today, I wonder why. Not that I mind, I mean I love it, it feels like it’s just me and Aiden here.

“She doesn’t stop talking about you.” He says after a moment of silence.

                    “Huh?”

“Ashley…she hasn’t stopped talking about you.” He reiterates.

“What…What’d she say?” I ask curiously as I trace the top of my mug. I can’t meet his eyes, I don’t know why but it’s just not happening.
