Heavily Broken – (Chapter: Memories and Conditions)

“Don’t worry Christine I will be out of your hair in no time.  I just came to get some of my things and I will be out of your life for good.”  I say this as I pass her and shove her out of the doorway with my shoulder.

“Good I will call your fathers lawyers and we will get this all settled today, since you missed the meeting yesterday, and we couldn’t proceed without you there.” She shouts at my back as I walk up the stairs to my room.

I finally made it into the privacy of my room and decided to take that shower that I have been wanting all day long.  Hopefully it will help me calm down and relax so I can prepare myself for what was about to come.

After a 30 minute shower, I felt a little better and I got dressed into a pair of skinny jeans, a Volcom t-shirt, and a sweater.  Once I was finally dressed I pulled out the biggest suitcase that I had and started to pack my clothes and all the necessities.  I also packed the very few pictures that I had of my father and me.  I was almost done packing when I heard the voice of the devil calling me from the living room.  It was time to see what my dad had put in his will, I am pretty sure that he left me a large sum of money, but what I really wanted to know was how much he had left my mother.  He knew that she was cheating on him and I think the only reason that he stayed with her for this long was that he pitied her and he wasn’t around long enough to have to put up with her crap.  I hope that he left her nothing, so she can get what she deserves.

As I walk into the living room I see two men dressed in black Armani suits sitting across from my mother.  She is sitting there fidgeting with her hands and looking very impatient.

“Ok let’s get this over with.” I mumble to them as I sit as far away from my mother as possible.

After a long pause one of the lawyers started to speak, “Well Mrs. Davies I am so sorry for your loss, Raife was a very nice man and I know he will be missed.”  He paused for a minute looking at my mother than me.  “Well I guess we should really get down to business, so Mike will you please tell these lovely ladies what the will states.”
