    Wordless conversations.

     

                Her laughter ceases immediately when her eyes find mine and she stops dead in her tracks.  Our eyes are locked in an intense stare that neither of us can or want to break.  Clay, Glen and Spencer’s dad look on helplessly; none sure what the outcome of this meeting will be.  Despite the 10 feet that separates us, and the many walls we have constructed between us, she lets me see into her soul, as the spectrum of emotions dance in her eyes, revealing to me that we share the same feelings.  Shock, fear, anger, sadness, happiness, longing, lust and finally love, play out in our silent reunion, as her entire family, oblivious to our wordless conversation, looks on in fear of the worst.

     

                An eternity passes before the paralysis allows our legs to function.  Regaining mobility, we simultaneously take cautious steps towards one another without breaking eye contact.  Meeting halfway, she reaches out her arms, wrapping them around my neck and burying her head in my shoulder, while I snake my arms tightly around her waist.  I instantly feel myself melting into the touch of her body, causing me to instinctually strengthen my grip.  Her body responds to my intensity with hysterical sobs and tears that fall freely onto my neck. The powerful tremors surging through her make holding on to her very difficult.  She raises her head from my neck and rests her chin on my shoulder.

     

                “I’ve missed you so much.”  She whispers loud enough so only I am privy to her words.  She squeezes me even tighter for a few seconds before pushing away to look at me without releasing me completely.

     

                “I’ve missed you too.”  She places her hand gently on my cheek and wipes the tears away with her thumb, looking so deeply into my eyes that I fear she may fall in.  In a movie this is where the reunited ex-couple kisses passionately and heads off into the sunset with all their problems resolved.  I can almost sense she is working up the nerve to lean in for that problem-erasing lip lock, when our perfect moment is interrupted by a throat clearing.

     

                “Can you take this upstairs so we can eat?”  Glen says eying the barely touched feast that is getting colder by the minute.  Spencer and I share in a comfortably awkward laugh and pry ourselves away from each other.

So I could not leave any comments!!! But I still red all of your stories on my phone everynight. But this last chapter… I mean… I red it in my bed yesterday, it was just AWESOME !!! It was everything we had been waiting for!!! So I decided specialy for you and in order to leave a comment, to go to a friend’s house and use her computer.
