Grow Old With Me – (Chapter: Doctors, Diseases, and Dads)

“Well… since you’re not gonna get sick…” I began.
“What?” she asked. I scooted over on the bed and slapped my hand down on the new space I had created.
“Come lie with me?” She smiled.
“Of course.” She then proceeded to take her shoes off and somehow, we managed to both fit onto the relatively small hospital bed. It didn’t hurt that we were basically on top of one another, either. “I love you, Ash.” I felt her lips brush mine, but I was too tired to physically respond.
“I love you too.”
Surprisingly, the week went by pretty quickly. Spencer kept me company most of the time and a lot of our friends came to visit. When I started to feel better, I was allowed to get up and walk around the hospital and the courtyard. It was actually really relaxing. I didn’t have to worry about paparazzi, or my manager, or the record company; it was nice to have a break.
That’s not to say I didn’t want to leave. By the night before they were letting me leave, I was feeling mostly better, despite a little lingering weakness.
“So what do you want to do tomorrow?” Spencer asked as we made our way back from a little evening makeout session in the courtyard. It felt like we were in high school again, trying to avoid getting seen kissing.
“Hmm, well, I can think of a lot of things… most of them involve you, a bed, a door with an actual lock on it, and a few free hours.”
“I take it we’ve graduated on from the chocolate sauce fantasy?”
“No way, Spence. There is not a chance in hell I would ever forget about that,” I told her. She smiled and laughed, although I didn’t find it funny; I was totally serious about it.
“What else do you want to do?”
“Nothing.”
“Seriously?”
“Chances are, if things go my way, I’ll be too tired to do anything else the rest of the day.”
“You are so back to normal,” she giggled.
“But you love it.”
“I do,” she admitted. We finally reached my room and I noticed there was someone already in there. I figured it was a nurse, ready to yell at me for being late back to the room. Although with me, the nurses never really yelled; after all, they wouldn’t want to piss off a celebrity. They just have this irritated look on their faces when you walk in, and then you apologize sweetly, and they proceed to act like you’re best friends. It’s a good system, I guess.

I AM SOOO GLAD That you posted a chapter. I LOVE YOUR STORY!!!! It is sad that Ashley has to be like that to her dad, but he deserves it. I just hope that Ashley and SPencer will be okay and that Spencer will not start failing her classes at school when she moves in with Ashley. TTYL and I can’t wait to see what other ideas that you have for this story. Buh-bye!!!!!!!
Wow that was a great chapter. I`m shocked ashley dad came to see her. I`m glad ashley is doing alot better. And spencer dad is the best letting her move in with ashley. Cant wait for the next chapter. PMS.
Hey seeing how it says that u own Spencer and Ashley, would u pretty please mind sharring? I promise I will be a good gurl!!=), okay well anyways im glad that ashley was A OKAY!! gah u freakin scarred me!! SO happy ashley and spencer our moving in!!! yah!! Oh and Ashleys dad can step the flipper off!! so yeah good post!!! AWESOME!!

yes! the return of the story that addicted me to this site. Mmm. sounds like the hospital did Ash good in more ways than one. I bet she’s had all that on her chest for a while. and i like Dr. Ben. that is all.

So, I definitely missed this story while I was away. I got back from my trip last night and was happy to see a new chapter. You know, I believe I saw this in the classified section of the newspaper the other day: Wanted – Father for young female. Must enjoy actually talking to and being engaged in said female’s life on a daily basis. Also, must not be jaded by fame. Raifes need not apply. I also recall reading in a medical journal that a speedy recovery from meningitis is possible via table clearing sex. On that note, you know I love this story and your writing Kozmic. Hook a sista’ up with another chapter when you can.
