Going Horizontal – (Chapter: Broken Hearted)

"Spence, you alright? We called you for breakfast three times already and you didn’t answer…" a familiar looking man said. It was my older brother Glen, and he wasn’t supposed to be home because I thought he lived on the other side of Los Angeles.

His short blond curls stayed the same as I suspected and his goatee was thicker than it used to be. Oh, how I’ve missed seeing him around!

"Glen Carlin, what are you doing here!?" I ask, placing the photo of Madison and I hugging each other back on my dresser so I could throw my arms around my caring brother. He chuckled softly and embraced me against his chest.

"Long time, no see, am I right?" He asks as the both of us politely pull away from each other. That was just an understatement. It had been two years since I’ve last seen this guy hanging around me. It was great that he was in college now, and playing as the star basketball player of the school made me so happy for him but I also missed the time we spent together as brother and sister.

Clay wasn’t much a brother as he should have been but now that he’s off on his own doing whatever the fuck he wants, I guess it doesn’t matter anymore.

"Man, how come you haven’t been visiting much? I haven’t seen you since I started attending Wescott." I say to him, placing my hands on my hips as though I were his mother, who wasn’t very motherly I might add.

Yeah, I was attending some academy for intelligent pussies but damn it, not anymore. Just last week, I decided to transfer to a regular high school, King High, which is generic but I kind of want to be around people who are real, not uptight and wicked proper like the robots at Wescott.

Paula thought it was a mistake but my dad, Arthur, thinks it’s great that I want to go to a school with attractive morons; he says I’ll probably have a good education without paying much for it anymore as he used to with Wescott.

Glen gave me a small grin before replying. "I’ll explain everything to you soon as you come down and eat breakfast with us. I’ve missed you, kiddo." He tells me as he turns his back on me. For a moment, I stood at the doorway watching him walk down the stairs and I’m flooded with happy memories of us together again.
