Family – (Chapter: 12 ~ Bad Timing)

“Then why are you going to take her off??!!!”
“Because, she needs to push and that can’t happen if she’s completely numb.” The nurse spoke as if it was a daily explanation. Ashley chalked it up to overprotective husbands. “Ashley I’m going to have you sit behind her and try and keep her comfortable. Let her lean into you as much as she needs to okay?”
“Of course.” They pulled Spencer into a sitting position, while Ashley got behind her, then Spencer leaned back in between her legs. The nurse turned off the medicine and immediately Spencer starts squeezing Ashley’s wrists. Ashley lets her squeeze as much as she needs to now, as she whispers comforting words into her ear, rocking her back and forth slightly. After a few moments Spencer started to relax a little but almost immediately another contraction hit.
“Why… wont… they… STOP?!!” Spencer starts shaking from gripping so hard onto Ashley’s wrists.
“It’s okay Spencer, it’s time to get through the hard part.” The doctor smiles as she walks into the room.
2 hours later
“Alright Spencer, last push come on. You can do it. 1…2…3…4… and out comes the head.” Ashley smiles as she hears the baby’s first cry. She has tears running down her face as she watches the doctor guide the baby out. Once out, the doctor cuts the cord handing the baby over to a nurse to get cleaned up. Spencer relaxes back into Ashley completely. She releases her grip on the brunette’s wrists which are now bruised in the shape of hands. Neither notice as they watch the nurse checking out their newborn.
“Ready to find out what we had Spencer?” Ashley whispers into her ear.
“Mmhhmm.” Spencer nods and wipes the tears from her cheeks. Ashley grabs her hands and starts to kiss them until the nurse turns around.
“Now, we knew that you didn’t know what it was, so Ashley here brought in a white blanket and hat. Are you ready to hold your baby?” Spencer nods her head vigorously and reaches out to receive the baby. “10 fingers, 10 toes, perfect breathing, and heart rhythm.” Spencer takes the baby from the nurse as Ashley whispers in her ear again.

AWWW…that was just so precious=) I’m so glad that you updated hon. Paula will forever be the SHE DEVIL!! I’m glad Spencer finally put her in her place. Hopefully that’s the last time we see of her. PMNOW!! Pretty please!

I cant believe Paula! She’s going to miss out on her daughter and granddaughters life cause she’s so close minded! And pulling that stunt with Scott…not cool. I’m so glad they got through it though! And Spencer told her to leave! I really love this story, its so much more in depth about the girls and their lives together! PMS!

First of all, thanks for the long update. Secondly, this chapter had every emotion imaginable, joy of a beautiful baby girl, laughter when Spencer was squeezing Ashley’s hand, anger when Paula brought Scott into the picture, hatred just because Paula exists, and sheer happiness because Spencer & Ashley have now begun the journey of parenthood with the one they love. Excellent writing! PMS

OK FYI I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE NAME MY DAUGHTER’S NAME IS CADENCE ANNE AND I WANTED SOOO BAD TO NAME HER KENNEDY BUT WE DIDN’T AGREE SO WE ENDED UP NAMING HER CADENCE BUT DAAAAAAAAAAMN I LOVE THAT NAME SO MUCH.
