Everything Changes After Spending 7 Months Apart – (Chapter: You've got me going back and forth like a ping pong ball!)

Yeah, yeah, Ashley – we know! You should check into rehab for this unhealthy addiction.

But, god, it felt amazing to make love for once! I’m addicted to that feeling now! I want that feeling so much more often. Other people get that feeling a lot more often than I do, and that just makes me feel even more depressed.

Ashley has begun texting me about something going on with her and Aiden, as if I actually give a shit.

You have to give a shit. Remember, that’s what friends are for – emphasis on friends.

So I pretend to care, but I can’t force much input. So I respond to her with two and three word answers. She asks me to do a little bit of research for her on something about culinary college. Yes, my nerd-like instincts are something that she loves to have around for her advantage. I say that I’ll do it, as always.

“You’re the best! <3” She exclaims.

“Not quite…but I get what you’re saying. You’re welcome.” I text back, hoping she doesn’t pick up on my less than happy attitude.

Much to my dismay, she picks up on it like a hobo picks up a penny. “What’s wrong babe?” She asks sounding all too concerned.

I stare at my phone screen considering all the ways to answer. I settle for, “I’m just realizing that this is the first night in months that I actually feel alone. I searched for love in meaningless sex, which I know makes no sense. But at least I had someone sleeping next to me. I just want to have a girlfriend.”

“Why do you want a girlfriend so bad? They’re nothing but trouble, they cause drama, and none of them like me…  =[ “

None of them like you because you act like a jealous girlfriend around them – ignorant much?

Be nice! I reprimand the voice. She is still my friend, I can’t be that mean.

So instead, simply I respond, “Because I want someone in my arms at night. I want someone to tell me they love me. I want someone to make love to. I have to accept that now I’m back to being alone. I’m back to being Single-Spencer.”

    1. first off, I applaud you for writing about what’s going on with your situation right now. second, I’m truly enjoying this. I can understand a lot of what you’re going through, as I’m sure a lot of us on here can. I can especially relate to the ‘voice’. there’s no getting rid of it! I’ll be keeping an eye out for future updates, that’s for sure. and I wish you luck!
