Ever the Same – (Chapter: Ch. 27: Notebooks Are For Notes)

Still, she walked out of the room, to give Ashley a few more minutes to cool off, before she tried again. As she walked through the threshold of the door, she spied the dart that stuck into the door frame and thought about how that could have been through her head. Needless to say, she shuddered slightly.

After she had exited the room and shut the door behind her, Ashley let out the breath she was holding in a single angry sigh.

Picking up a dart next to her, she went to chuck it at the closed door, but she brought her hand down and gritted her teeth for a moment.

Ashley let out a low grunt and said, with an agitated voice, “Pineapple…pineapple…” she brought down her fist onto the arm of the couch, stabbing the dart deep into it. “…pineapple.”

    –

Spencer turned around and stared at the closed door, after she shut it behind her. No, there wasn’t going to be another day of this blind hostility. She was going to make it right, now. Just one problem: Ashley was refusing to listen, let alone allow the blonde to speak at all.

She leaned back against the hallway wall and let herself sink, until she was sitting down. Bringing her knees up to her chest, she rested her head on them and continued to stare at the closed door, trying to come up with*an idea.

“Put you in the doghouse, has she?”

Spencer jumped from the sudden intrusion and looked up to face a grinning Easy.

The doghouse? Wasn’t that a term used for couples? Easy didn’t know anything, did he? Spencer didn’t remember saying anything. Had Ashley? No, probably not. No reason to. And he couldn’t have guessed…he wasn’t bright enough to catch any of the clues. No one was, really.

The blonde decided to play it off.

    “Doghouse?” she questioned.

Maybe it had just been the best choice of words for what he was thinking. Maybe he was just a moron.

“You know, the friend doghouse. Where one friend fucks up one way or another, and the other friend’s like ‘boo, you’re a whore, don’t talk to me’.” Okay, so it was the latter…he was just a moron.
