Ever the Same – (Chapter: Ch. 27: Notebooks Are For Notes)

Besides, Spencer would probably never tell anyone about that. No one needed to know that she lost her cool. Not even Ashley. She’d find a different way to tell the brunette that she didn’t approve of her former friends’ behavior. Besides, she sort of liked that Ashley thought she was basically helpless.

Spencer made her way down the narrow hallway to the den – at least she could throw some darts and blow off some steam, before she ran into the other girl, again. Right before she reached the door, she tripped, but caught herself before she stumbled into the door.
Damn floor boards, she thought bitterly as she lightly stomped her foot. They get me every time.

She opened the door and walked into the den, freezing once she saw Ashley on the couch.

The brunette had her arm ready in the position to throw, but she paused and lowered her arm as she saw the other girl standing in the doorway wide eyed.

    “Ash…” Spencer started quietly.

“Don’t,” the smaller girl cut her off. “I don’t want to hear it.”

Spencer was actually slightly relieved that Ashley had spoken at all…even though it was only to tell her to shove it.

She took a step forward, “Ashley—”

The blonde was cut off, once more, by something whizzing passed her head. Turning to look beside her, she caught sight of a d`rt sticking in the door frame, right at her eye level. She turned back to Ashley with her mouth hanging wide open.

“I said don’t speak to me,” Ashley said in a monotonous tone, filled with venom. It was hard to stifle her smirk as she noted the look of pure horror on her girlfriend’s face.

“What is wrong with you?!” Spencer yelled out in shock. “That could have stuck me right in the eye!”

“Then leave before I try it again,” the brunette said simply.

    “But—”

    “OUT!”

The blonde jumped from the volume of the other girl&rsquo$3Bs voice. She wanted to cry. Wanted to, but didn’t dare. If she cried, now, Ashley would feel that she had won, and Spencer was too determined to lose so early in the game. Her actions, as of late, were quite justified. Or, at least, she hoped her reasoning would be good enough.
