Ever the Same – (Chapter: Ch. 22: Killin’ Time, Killin’ Nerves.)

"Alright, just make sure to be back in time," he cautioned.

"No problem, Mr. C," Ashley said. The blonde nodded in agreement.

There wasn’t really anything too interesting to see in the airport, but at least they were up and walking.

"Hey, look, a Starbucks," Spencer said while pointing at the coffee shop.

    "Duck and cover!" Ashley yelled.

    "What?"

"It’s a Starbucks…Psycho Kyla could be lurking anywhere near here," Ashley stood on the tips of her toes looking over people for any sign of the other brunette.

The blonde laughed loudly. "That wasn’t nice," she managed in between giggles. "You want something, though?"

"What, from Starbucks?" she contemplated the question briefly. "Wanna share a mocha frappuccino?"

"Exactly what I had in mind," Spencer said with a smile.

After the pit stop, it was back to walking.

Ashley took a sip of the drink, "Man, there are some crazy people here." She handed the drink to Spencer.

The blonde also took a sip, "No joke," she smirked, "but it is LA."

“Ouch, Spence. You’re going after my hometown. That’s a hit below the belt,” the smaller girl said while bending over and holding her waist for emphasis.

“Oh, like you care.” Spencer handed the drink back to the other girl.

Ashley took it and shrugged. With the straw in her mouth, she said, “You’re right. I don’t give a fuck about it. I don’t really give a fuck about anything.” The blonde frowned slightly, and Ashley caught it out of her peripheral vision. Pausing and removing the straw from her mouth, she said “I give a fuck about you, though.” She grimaced, “That sounds kinda aggressive.” The other girl giggled. “I mean, I care about you. Because I love you and you are my everything.”

“I love you, too, but you don’t have to make it all mushy,” Spencer teased with a light squeeze to the other girl’s shoulder.

Putting on a face of mock horror Ashley said, “Oh, my God! I’m mushy…” She looked at the other girl and pointed an accusatory finger, “What have you done to me?!”

The blonde laughed loudly and slapped the other girl’s hand away. “Me? I did nothing. You just made a drastic change. What happened to my badass girlfriend? My, my, looks like you’re a pansy, now. We might have to break it off,” she said with mock seriousness and a quick nod.
