Changing For the Better – (Chapter: I Only Know That I Can Change Everything Else Just Stays The Same)

“Then what happened?” she hesitantly asked as she used her thumb to wipe away the remaining tears.

“Um, I think when I went to the bathroom Kristi, Skyler, or Jeremy slipped something into my drink, and I ended up passing out. God, I should have seen it coming. They used to do it to people all the time when they were pissed at them. I fucken watched them do it to people. I was so stupid to think they wouldn’t sink to that level. They totally deceived me again. I fell for their masquerade again and again and again. I guess there really is no running from your past,” I concluded finally finishing my story with a snivel. It felt like someone just lifted the weight of the world off my shoulders, but it‘ll be probably be short lived when she walks away. Right now I was just counting the seconds until I was dead to her. But I couldn’t blame her, could I? “Please say something.” I was on the verge of another crying epidemic. I could feel the tears building up again. I think that vibe registered because I soon saw Ashley get off the bed and climb closer to me, wrapping me in there arms, trying desperately hard to comfort me.

“Spence it’s alright,” reassured Ashley through my sobs rubbing circles on my back. “You should know that I’m here for you,” she assured me holding me as tight as humanly possible. “I’m not like them, and I don’t plan on ditching you, or drugging you for that matter,” Ashley half-heartedly joked. This made me laugh a little.

“I honestly never thought you’d understand. I just didn’t want to lose you.”

“Everybody‘s got a past Spence,” stated Ashley pulling away a little to look me in the eye.

“It makes us who we are today,” she added letting go to take hold of my hands. She glanced at me looking for an okay. I just lowered my gaze. Ashley took this as an okay and pushed up my sleeve. Slowly I could feel her soft hands as she rotated my arm and examined my wrist, my past. A long faded scar stretched out across my wrist. She lightly traced over it with her smooth finger tips, letting me know that it was okay, everything was going to be alright now.

    1. I’m glad Spencer finally opened up to Ashley about her past and Ashley didn’t run away. Spencer had a rough past and she needs to keep a distance between herself and her former friends. PMASAP.

    2. well she got it off her chest but did they just drug her or did they do more while she was out or try to do more while she was out but aiden and ash got there, pms
