    Can't Go Back Now

Once upon a time there was a young girl. She had friends, a caring family (more than some of us can ask for), she was captain of the volleyball team, and she had a life so many envied. She woke up every morning with thousands of thoughts rushing through her head. She never seemed to be able to settle her mind on the present day, she always thought about the future and what it would bring to her. Notice how it was written that she wondered what it would to her…she never thought she had to work for anything.

Life and all its complexities avoided her life at all costs. She had the perfect 4.0 and a cute little white mustang convertible. Her friends always called her first to make plans and when she couldn’t go out they didn’t go out. See, now doesn’t that seem like a life we all wish we could obtain? Well…one day, this perfect girl met someone. This girl was complicated, she didn’t have any friends in school, she wasn’t captain of the volleyball team and she had a life no one envied. She didn’t have a caring family and she didn’t care. She never looked to the future, she knew she’d have to work for whatever she wanted in life, but she took every day minute by minute because she realized she had one life and even though she didn’t have the perfect 4.0 or all the popularity in the world, it was still a life that needed to be enjoyed.

When the perfect girl met the edgy girl, things changed. They changed slowly, but they changed. Within their Junior and Senior year in high school, the perfect girl came to realize the future wasn’t going to bring her anything; she came to realize she needed to work for it. This edgy girl wasn’t someone the perfect girl would ever hang out with or be around, but eventually…I changed the perfect girl’s life.

We hung out a lot away from the crowd. For a while she didn’t want her friends to know she hung out with me, but I never let that get to me. We kept a secret between each other for ever, well not forever, but even until now.
