    I looked at Fiona and all my feelings were coming back. I felt how I would do everything to please this girl, especially when she needed me so bad.

    “Bette,” Fiona said in a soft voice. I felt a shiver go down my spine. Just hearing that voice again made it seem like it all happened yesterday, like we could still fix it. I wanted to fix it so bad at the moment. I was so captivated by Fiona that I didn’t think about Tina anymore. As if Tina would be there regardless what I did.

    “Yes?” I asked, prepared to do about anything.

    “I need you to come with me.”

    “What do you mean? Aren’t you staying?”

    She swallowed and took hold of my hand. A tear was blinking in her eye. If she was faking this, she was a damn good actress. She is an actress, Bette, remember? I try to erase that thought from my head, but it lingers on.

    “I can’t stay, Bette, it’s too dangerous. I know a safe place, but I can’t go there alone. I can’t explain it to you now, but I need you to come with me.”

    “What?” Come with her? If she had asked me months earlier, I had agreed immediately. I would have left my life here without a tear – maybe just a few for Billy. But now… things were different. I did think about Tina.

    “Fiona… I can’t do that. I have my life here, what about my friends? What about school?”

    “Bette, don’t fool yourself. You told me yourself what those girls are like, they only envy you and just act as if they like you because you’re Billy’s Girl.”

    I shook my head unconsciously. A glimpse of the old, mocking Fiona had come back and it hurt me a bit. But she couldn’t help it, she was so confused, things had become so hard for her. And I could help her. Me, Bette Porter.

    “Actually… I’m not Billy’s Girl anymore. So those girls aren’t around me any longer. I’m talking about other friends.”

    “He broke up with you?” Fiona asked unbelievably. It was like she was falling out of a certain role and it did upset me, but I ignored that. She was here, after all this time. Despite her ravished body and face, she still looked so beautiful, she still looked like she was some kind of goddess.

    2. You know, I can hit Bette gladly, My God why is she doing this to Tina? Is she out of her mind? I just can’t believe it, I’m shocked, maybe as they all are, I mean I understand all the feelings that she’s having because she didn’t get a closure, but does she have to ignore everything she have with Tina and just walk away, My God I feel very upset and I am not sure I could handle it if she really turned out to be such a jerk. Thank you so much, you write beautifully but I am really disappointed in Bette and the turned of events.
