“You’re my fourth hero.” Ladydove

“You might feel a little nausea later tonight and for the next few days Dana so I’m going to give you a prescription. Take one in about eight hours if you need it and one table twice a day for the next two days.”
Dana hadn’t said a word throughout the entire consultation then she found her voice to ask the question that had plagued her thoughts ever since the diagnosis. “Am I going to die?”
The oncology doctor got up from behind the desk and came to sit in front of Dana. She took hold of Dana’s left hand, while Lara sitting on her right held the other one. The doctor spoke to Dana soothingly but with honesty and conviction. She’d heard this fear voiced hundreds of times but never took it casually because the fears were as real and individual as each patient she cared for.
“Dana you are young and you’ve taken excellent care of yourself. You have a very good chance of surviving and living a full and productive life. We’re going to do everything in our power to improve those chances but you need to do your part too. Your will to live, to fight, to beat this thing will make all the difference. I’m not going to kid you … your condition is serious. We’re not out of the woods yet but we have a fighting chance, so let’s make the most of it.”
“How do we do that?”
“For starters you stick with the protocol and you work with your nurse advocate closely. Report any changes in your condition immediately so we can make adjustments. You’ll also need to take some precautions to avoid any setbacks. As we’ve talked about before … remember that chemo has the effect of breaking down the immune system as it can disrupt the production of white blood cells which are essential for fighting infection.
Your white counts are usually lowest seven to ten days after receiving chemo so try to stay out of large crowds and away from sick adults and children during that time. You need to be especially careful around children if you haven’t had all the childhood diseases like chicken pox, German measles, or mumps. You have to be mindful about infection so wash your hands often. Keep hot foods hot, cold foods cold and avoid any situation where you can cut yourself.

Please reconsider Tina and Bette love again! I do not want no man in the history! Tina want jealous of other women look with desire to Bette!
pikiangelica. Thank you for reading and commenting. I promise Tina will not be with any other man for the rest of the story. No Henry in this one. Bette and Tina will find love again.
DANA has the three things in her life to beat this dreaded disease(1)family,(2)good medical care and the last one being the most important one(3) THE WILLINGNESS TO FIGHT. BETTE/TINA going on this trip maybe its going to shed light on why they both acted the way they have but BETTE better be prepared for the bombshell TINA will drop if she does but i hope it starts them on the road to recovery whether TINA tells her or not.Let them go at it ,full speed no stops along the way until absolutely nothing is left to fight about but everything to fight for.pps thanks
dunnthat. Thank you for reading and commenting. You are correct on both counts. Dana will come to appreciate all she has to live for and will fight for it. Bette and Tina will have it out. Nothing will be left unsaid. Be prepared as I will be yanking the scabs from every unhealed wound and forcing them to deal with it.
I’m still reading BAT if not always commenting.
You write so well and bring all the emotions off the page.
Thanks please keep posting
SassyGran. Thank you for reading. I love to hear from you whenever you have time to comment. This is definitely an emotional story, and it goes very deep. Wait until Bette and Tina get to the retreat. All the wounds will be uncovered and dealt with.
Hey Bat, just caught up with your last posts. Hopefully after her tryst with Josh and how it wasn’t at all what she thought it would be she can begin to think about what it really is that she wants. And if it is trying to rebuild her relationship with Bette let’s just hope that Bette’s really the better person and that she will be able to forgive Tina completely and not hold this over her every chance she gets as Tina has done so far with Bette’s affair with Candace. If they are both willing to rekindle their relationship they have to forgive each other and in Bette’s case I would say she too has to forgive herself and then let bygones be bygones, so they can start fresh.
Love the way you changed Dana’s story and that Lara in your story has the needed support and strength to not let Dana push her away for good. From now on it will be an uphill battle but it will be worth at the end.
Looking forward to your next chapters.
as1219. Thank you for reading and commenting. The experience with Josh will answer some questions for Tina as well as give Bette some understanding of what she’s feeling. I don’t see Bette as vengeful, at least not in the deliberate ways that Tina is. She’s trying to get them to a place of civility so punishing Tina would be counterproductive.
Guys! Bat, which is what I say positive message, you are doing it,
Dana become a person who will fight for your life.
“It is so worth the fight.” Ladydove, said it all.
As for Tina, you have to be honest with Bette and tell the truth
with what happened in Canada, because if they want to rebuild
their relationship, have to use siceridade because I believe that love all
forgive and only love can do is worth living.
The complete constellation.
So glad Tina and Bette are going to go to Vermont. So heart wrenching about Dana, thanks
