“You’re my fourth hero.” Ladydove
After doing some research and talking to Dr. Shapiro Dana opted to get her follow-up treatments at a Cancer Center located in Santa Monica. The one-stop concept that they adopted was new and revolutionary whereby the cancer patient was assigned a team of medical and support specialists who would consult and work together to develop a unique treatment plan specifically tailored to Dana’s diagnosis and needs.
The team was housed in a medical complex so when Dana had her appointments she had only to go to one place, and most times she would see them all in the same visit. It could be a long day of meeting jointly and individually but the benefits of having an entire medical team in close proximity to each other and the patient during the visit to answer questions or concerns was invaluable. To the extent possible the team empowered their patients which worked to provide greater comfort, convenience, less stress; less wasted time and added peace of mind.
Dana’s team was overseen by Dr. Shapiro but everyone played an integral part in the management of her care in each of their specialties. They used conventional and complementary therapies to treat the whole person not just the disease. They encouraged the families of patients to be very involved and active in the process as well.

Once she finished with chemo Connie escorted Dana and Lara to the medical suite where they would spend the last hour consulting with the medical oncologist and registered dietitian after which they were free to leave. Dana managed to get through the first session of chemo therapy relatively well. She kept her spirits up for the most part but as they approached the end Lara could see that she was internalizing again.
It was a good thing they had planned to go to Bette and Tina’s house right after the appointment. Even though she was much improved Dana still suffered bouts of depression and Lara needed the family to help her to get through them. She could no longer do it on her own without getting a bit overanxious and overbearing in her efforts to help. That only served to upset Dana more. There were times when Dana would purposely push her away just so she could have space to breathe. It wasn’t as if she wanted to wallow in self-pity. She had to come to terms with her illness and the life changes at her own pace in her own time. All she asked was that the people around her respect and honor that.

Please reconsider Tina and Bette love again! I do not want no man in the history! Tina want jealous of other women look with desire to Bette!
pikiangelica. Thank you for reading and commenting. I promise Tina will not be with any other man for the rest of the story. No Henry in this one. Bette and Tina will find love again.
DANA has the three things in her life to beat this dreaded disease(1)family,(2)good medical care and the last one being the most important one(3) THE WILLINGNESS TO FIGHT. BETTE/TINA going on this trip maybe its going to shed light on why they both acted the way they have but BETTE better be prepared for the bombshell TINA will drop if she does but i hope it starts them on the road to recovery whether TINA tells her or not.Let them go at it ,full speed no stops along the way until absolutely nothing is left to fight about but everything to fight for.pps thanks
dunnthat. Thank you for reading and commenting. You are correct on both counts. Dana will come to appreciate all she has to live for and will fight for it. Bette and Tina will have it out. Nothing will be left unsaid. Be prepared as I will be yanking the scabs from every unhealed wound and forcing them to deal with it.
I’m still reading BAT if not always commenting.
You write so well and bring all the emotions off the page.
Thanks please keep posting
SassyGran. Thank you for reading. I love to hear from you whenever you have time to comment. This is definitely an emotional story, and it goes very deep. Wait until Bette and Tina get to the retreat. All the wounds will be uncovered and dealt with.
Hey Bat, just caught up with your last posts. Hopefully after her tryst with Josh and how it wasn’t at all what she thought it would be she can begin to think about what it really is that she wants. And if it is trying to rebuild her relationship with Bette let’s just hope that Bette’s really the better person and that she will be able to forgive Tina completely and not hold this over her every chance she gets as Tina has done so far with Bette’s affair with Candace. If they are both willing to rekindle their relationship they have to forgive each other and in Bette’s case I would say she too has to forgive herself and then let bygones be bygones, so they can start fresh.
Love the way you changed Dana’s story and that Lara in your story has the needed support and strength to not let Dana push her away for good. From now on it will be an uphill battle but it will be worth at the end.
Looking forward to your next chapters.
as1219. Thank you for reading and commenting. The experience with Josh will answer some questions for Tina as well as give Bette some understanding of what she’s feeling. I don’t see Bette as vengeful, at least not in the deliberate ways that Tina is. She’s trying to get them to a place of civility so punishing Tina would be counterproductive.
Guys! Bat, which is what I say positive message, you are doing it,
Dana become a person who will fight for your life.
“It is so worth the fight.” Ladydove, said it all.
As for Tina, you have to be honest with Bette and tell the truth
with what happened in Canada, because if they want to rebuild
their relationship, have to use siceridade because I believe that love all
forgive and only love can do is worth living.
The complete constellation.
So glad Tina and Bette are going to go to Vermont. So heart wrenching about Dana, thanks
