    Young Love: Chapter Nineteen

Shane stood outside her brother’s door and knocked on it. Carla walked up the steps and walked over to Shane.

“What’s wrong with Shay?” She asked concernedly.

“I don’t know,” she said skeptically. “But I’ll find out.” She knocked on the door. “Shay—can I come in?” She sighed when she didn’t get an answer.

“Just go in Shane,” Carla nodded and smiled softly. Shane turned the knob and opened the door. She walked into the bedroom, and Shay was sitting on the floor playing his video game. She closed the door behind her and walked over to her brother. She took a seat next to him and looked at the screen.

“Hey,” Shay didn’t say a word and continued to stare at the screen. “Do you want to talk about what you saw?” She looked at her brother, and he shook his head.

“No—I really don’t want to talk about it.” She nodded.

“All right—I’ll let you play your game.” She placed her hand on his shoulder and smiled faintly. She began to get up, but he grabbed her hand.

“Shane—,” she looked at her brother. “Why were you kissing Carmen?” Shane sighed and sat back on the floor.

“Well—,” she took a deep breath and exhaled. “Where can I start at?” She chuckled nervously. “You know that Carmen and I are friends, but we’re closer than that. Carmen’s my girlfriend.” She looked at her brother. “I-I’m gay.” He looked away, and Shane bit her bottom lip. He grabbed his sister’s hand.

“It’s okay—I’m not going to hate you.” He looked back at Shane. “You’re my sister, and I love you.” Shane smiled softly as she pulled her brother into her arms. She kissed the top of his head and rested her head on his.

“I love you too man.” He smiled as he hugged his sister.

Tina was at her locker, grabbing her books as Helena approached her.

“Hello Tina,” she smiled, and Tina looked up.

“Hi Helena,” she closed her locker and went to walk away, but Helena stopped her. “What are you doing?”

“I just need to talk to you that’s all.”

    “About what?”

“You know what—I want you to stop this little game you’re playing.” Helena looked around and took a step towards Tina. “Leave Bette alone okay, just let her go.”

    1. Hey aki, let me say that gotta love Harrison for knowing Dane was gay,,,,,as for Shay I hope he understood what Shane had told her about her being gay. And last I leave Helena and Bette,, I liked how Helena told Tina to back away from Bette, but I see probs with her,,,,

    2. Akira, thank you for calling out to fripster. Actually I am beginning to worry about her because she was posting so regularly and then for over a week we have not heard from her. Hope all is fine with her. Back to the story, I was glad to see Shay turned out to be ok with Sharmen. Chuckling along, I could just picture Harrison wearing pumps and lipsticks. Would that be a transvestite? “you stink” that was so funny like D said before, “the party is over, you can go back to being gay/” It was at least the 1st step that D took to coming out. Thank you for that. Hopefully, she would slowly warm up to the idea of coming out to her parents. Tina, I don’t know. I don’t think that little confrontation would stop her from going after Bette. Can’t wait for the home coming party. pps.

    3. Harrison is so right when it comes to coming out to parents. It might hurt them, but it would hurt worse if you don’t say anything. I don’t think Helena can stop Tina from hanging with Bette, and she shouldn’t want to. Helena is sexy as hell, she shouldn’t be intimidated by Tina, especially if Bette doesn’t want her anymore. Shay is adorably sweet. I love him…pps
