Woman of My Dreams
By the time they finished reviewing the plans, it was time for lunch. Bette promised to be in on Tuesday for at least half a day. Tina had agreed to this since the opening was so close but Bette promised not to overdo it and James promised to send her home at lunch each day.
They headed back to the Planet in hopes of sharing a meal with Kit. The place wasn’t too crowded so Kit was able to sit with them for a few minutes. “So how is it going?”
Bette smiled at Tina as she replied “life is good Kit. I am getting back into the groove and just happy to be home.”
“Are you both going back to work full time?” Kit asked.
“No, Helena has kicked me out of my office for 2 more weeks and I am only letting Bette go into the gallery for half days until after the opening. We still need some time alone and we need to reassure Angie that her life is back to normal. I think it really hasn’t hit her yet. She is just so happy to have us both home. I hope this won’t have lasting effects on her.” Tina finally put a voice to something that had been in the back of Bette’s mind.
“You know she and I had time to talk when Tina flew down to Ecuador. I really don’t think she is old enough for this to have lasting effects on her. But, if you are seeing Rachael, it might be a good idea to let her talk to Angie too. Keep an eye on her but just love her. That is what she needs most…just the love of her two mommies. That is one lucky girl.” Kit smiled as she thought of Angie. Angie had Kit wrapped around her little finger. They had a special bond and she knew that Angie was going to be ok as long as her mommies were happy.
They left the Planet and headed to the grocery store to buy groceries. With the frig and pantry stocked, they headed to school to pick up Angie. Angie’s teacher met them at the door to express her congratulations. It seems that Angie had been going non-stop all day about her Momma B coming home. They had finally decided to make a card that all the kids worked on for Bette.
With tears in her eyes Bette thanked all of the children for the beautiful card. Angie showed her mother each picture and told her who had drawn each one. After lots of hugs, they headed to the park for some play time. Angie ran to the swings as Bette followed close behind. Tina sat on a nearby bench and watched the loves of her life play.
After about an hour, they headed back home to enjoy a family evening together. Angie was in charge of picking the movie tonight so she picked “Finding Nemo” which was her latest favorite movie. Bette rolled her eyes but Tina promised to share her popcorn. Knowing that Angie had had a long day, Tina insisted that she get ready for bed before they started the movie. This was a good idea since Angie was out like a light before the movie finished.
After Tina put Angie down for the night, she went back to the living room to find Bette sitting there with 2 glasses of wine and some smooth jazz playing on the CD player. Tina just snuggled into Bette and they began to talk about their day. Tomorrow would be the first session with Rachael. Although they hadn’t talked about it a lot, they both knew they needed help to be healthy and whole once again. They had forced a lot to the back of their minds and had just been living one day at a time but sooner or later it was going to have to be explored. They both dreaded what was to come but as always they both just knew they could get through it together. They went to bed that night a little anxious about what tomorrow would bring but confident in the fact that their love was strong and there was no place they would rather be than together and at home.

Great update. Our girls will be okay, they just need to talk with the therapist a little bit. Angie too will be okay, after all she is a bit young to remember Bettes absence for very long. As long as she has her mommies with her and happy that is all she needs. Thanks PPVS
