    Bette

     

    Tina has become the center of my whole being; I don’t know where I begin or where I end.  In the short time that we have known each other, she calmly strolled into my life and rocked my world right off it’s axis; shattering my concrete pedestal from the strong hold of years ago.  I have become hopelessly devoted to Tina for the love that she has freely given to me is absolutely electrifying.  I have no control of my emotions where she is concerned because the look of adoration in Tina’s eyes makes me want to completely lose myself; my stomach is twisted in knots.  I could listen to the glorious sound of Tina’s voice for the rest of my life as she whispers in my ear, “I will always be there for you.  You will always have a home in these arms of mine.  I am here with you, to stay”.  I knew that with Tina by my side, deeply rooted within my heart, I would never stand alone.  Tina’s unique scent wraps itself around me whereby I can still smell her long after she has gone; it is permanently engraved within my skin.  As time silently ticks away the ending of the night, I come to the understanding that we are meant to begin the journey of our lives together; for my heart has been captured by her.  I didn’t believe I could ever fall in love, but life has a way of surprising you when you at least expect it.

     

    Tina’s Apartment Complex – 3:45 a.m.

     

    A comfortable silence falls between them as they walk hand in hand to Tina’s apartment complex.  “Tonight has been wonderful, T.  I couldn’t have asked for anything better.  Your friends are great too, especially Alice“.  With a comical expression on her face, Bette continues, “For as long as I live, I don’t think I will ever forget Alice“.  Tina smiles at Bette and replies, “I know what you mean.  Al has that effect on people.  She doesn’t know when to keep her mouth shout”.  As they patiently wait for the descent of the elevator to take them to the sixth floor, Tina continues, “Tonight has been fantastic, Bette.  I didn’t know you were such a romantic person.  I have never felt so special and wanted”.  Bette pulls Tina into her embrace and lightly kisses her on the lips, “I didn’t know that I was either.  I wanted you to feel who much I love you.  All I think about is making you happy, T; that is very important to me.  I promised Shane that I would and I don’t make it a habit to break my promises”.  The chime of the elevator alerts them of its presence and the sliding doors open for the beauties to walk through.  Once the doors close them off from the entire building, Tina is on Bette like a bee is to honey.  Bette is so caught off guard that she stumbles backward and the only thing that keeps them from falling to the ground is the cool steel plated wall of the elevator.
