Wings of An Angel – Bette and Tina – Chapter 10
Hands curled into fists at her sides, head held high she spoke, You cant have her. I will not allow you to have her. The silent war of words mysteriously found a crack within Deaths hollow ears, making him slow his pace to a crawl. Cloaked in the shadows of permanent ruin, Death painfully turned around and looked directly at Tina with chilling eyes and battled sarcastically back with, My luck just keeps getting better and better. What do you think you can possibly do for her? Besides from the obvious company in eternal hell that is? Death laughed at Tina as she stood motionless in her mime box, her muscles no longer able to carry Tina the few mini second miles left to collect her prize. Tina repeated the words previously spoken from her chalked mouth and added this last statement with much heated conviction, It would be in your best interest to let her go. The Dark Angel never sauntered away from a challenge, you couldnt threatened the Black Lord and expect him to scurry for shelter like a frightened cat as if you were the chosen one. You must realize Tina, that we are our own worse enemies. No one comes to my world without reason; without cause for decree. She will be judged.
You have no need for her. You have plenty of puppets to play with. Tina was broadcasting her story in hopes that someone would hear her voice; that the timbre of recognition would awaken her. To Tinas dismay, Bette continued to remain limp in his arms. The Lord addressed her with the dictatorship that was bestowed upon him so many centuries ago. He was not accustomed to having his kingdom interrupted with malice and the intentional disrespect in his royal haven; the audacity to speak when not spoken to. We all are puppets in the game of life Tina. We live when the string is pulled. We die when the string gets cut. Life is not what we want it to be. It just is. Tina helplessly watched as he callously carried Bette further into the hidden empty forest with no desire to redeem the soul that was wrongly jailed within in his military penitentiary; there was no mercy to be given without repercussions. Tina was being dismissed without a second thought, without a second look; no respect for the living. Anger vibrated through Tinas being; anger that fueled Tina to progress her shaking body across the barrier into the forbidden fruit. She was not leaving this transitional earth without Bette. You dont seem to understand what I am saying to you. Therefore, I will say it in words that are more suitable and understandable even for a two year old child. Leave her alone.

I liked the confrontation between Tina and the Angel of Death. A different but interesting approach with great tension.
I actually have to agree with slipperynipple. I like this story and love how you don’t just rush through things (unlike IC & Co. since they only have a maximum of 60 minutes a week to play with), but I actually had to keep stopping while reading this so I wouldn’t wear myself out. Introducing the supernatural was a good idea seeing as it would take a miracle for someone to come out of an incident like that alive.
wow, this was a long hiatus for this story…i hope bette will listen to tina and stays alive and get well soon
what Succulent said… but hey it was well worht the wait… so now please don’t make us wait another 3 months plus… great chapter…
I found your story today and spent my afternoon reading it. This is intriguing me. The thing I am most curious about is the little boy, something is weird with that situation. I am wondering if this is going to be an adventure like the movie “What dreams may come.” Will we find the little boy helping Tina face the Angel of Death? This story is also reminding me of Stephen king’s book “Rose Madder.” Although I really enjoy this story and your writing is great I would have to agree with slipperynipple about the length in certain parts. It can take away from the story. other than that I am enjoying it, please continue!
Cool! I seem to be drifting into the dark side of the world lately. The fight between Tina and the Dark Lord was intriguing. The Angel of Life just seemed to stand their and let Tina fight for Bette. The only time that you saw it or it was mentioned was when they were running down the hall and that Angel was running beside Bette. It will take all that Tina can give to Bette to keep her alive. Please post soon.
Good to see you back Leo and this is good chapter. When Tina talk to the Angel of Death is scary, ok glad Bette ok now and hope she will wake up soon. OK post soon please, thanks!
Wow what a drama – great to have you back….

Leo, god damn – you have been gone so long and then you give us the chapter from hell :o)……holy christ this was intense leo – absolutely amazing. Pleas do continue – We so want more, but please not so much drama on the next one eventhought we love it :o) Post soon
Well, so you disappear and then out of nowhere….BANG, after that chapter you once again have our attention…pls don’t ever go away that long again….I will assume that you are busy writing the next, and the next, and the next chapters….as you owe us big time….almost forgot….THANKYOU
Ya know this will be the first time I will write this. The story is good but this was too much. I think I skipped to the ending. The middle took to long and took me along a path I was not very interested in. But believe me this does not mean that the story did not have the desired affect but sometimes less is more. Could of done without some of the death part and the construction site part. Thanks for the story
Three months and thirteen days……..three months and thirteen days is how long you had a woman waiting…(its this how you threat your women)…….LE0, three months and thirteen days………..BUT it was worth the wait………….This chapter by far is your best……The struggle that Tina is going through to keep Bette where she belongs is heart felt…………The fight that she has with the Angel of Death clearly shows how in love she is with Bette and how far she will go to keep her…………..Now PLEASE let Tina win this fight so we can find out the mystery about Bette and Kit………..WE want a happy ending………Now I’ll only waiting THREE HOURS AND THIRTEEN MINUTES this time…………Please continue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
glad youre back a great chapter
Leo, welcome back although it’s been WAY TOO LONG. What an ambitious and complex chapter, thank you! If you ever feel another writer’s block coming on consider writing a simpler 1 or 2 pager to keep the creative juices flowing and keep in touch with your readers.
