    Window of Opportunity ch.37

Right then and there I knew that Candace would not win. I had put too much time and energy to get to a place in my life that I was ready to end my relationship with Jodi and finally admit to myself that Tina was the person I truly loved as well as wanted and needed to be with. Many therapy sessions had occurred to allow myself to forgive some of my actions of the past. Tina showed me tonight that her words were in fact truths. She had forgiven me. She may not have forgotten what had happened but she didn’t at any time throw the past affair up in my face as part of the justification for what happened with Candace tonight. She was there to hold me. She was there to soothe me. She was there to love me and I so wanted that for so long.

When the phone rang, it was Kit. As Tina went to the bedroom, I assumed correctly that she must have at some point called Kit. Kit was so understanding and supportive of both Tina and me. It is a good thing that she was not able to get her hands on Candace because I don’t think that Candace would have survived the ass whipping that Kit would have given her. Kit told me that her conversation with Tina was one in which Tina was concerned about me not that she was calling Kit because she had any doubts about us. I am so incredibly lucky to have her.

Kit and I talked for a few minutes only being allowed to hang up when I had totally reassured her that I was ok. I shut off the lights, locked up the house and went into the bedroom. Tina was asleep with the bedside light illuminating her features. She was so beautiful. As we had done earlier with Angie, I just stood in the doorway looking at her sleep. Her peacefulness gave me a feeling of peace. I was so happy and the Candace’s and Shana’s of the world were not going to win. They were not going to be what challenged my happiness or sabotaged my family. With Tina by my side, I had no doubts any longer that we would make it this time. I said a silent prayer of thanks as I climbed into bed. Tina didn’t wake but she did snuggle close to me and I wrapped my arms around her. It was all good at that moment and the thoughts of the evening drifted away as I found myself snuggling closer to Tina and after laying there reflecting for awhile, finally falling into a somewhat restful slumber.

    1. I am savoring the back-to-back postings. What a treat! I love your writing style and find myself rereading paragraphs. Thanks for all the updates and enjoy the rest of your break!

    2. By some strange coincidence…you often write something that touches deep within my soul and that makes it extremely heartfelt. Amazing. Thank you again for writing.

    3. As always another truely amazing post! I so what you mean with the painting and friends and booze…just say you couldn’t decide which color, it worked for me for awhile anyway! lol Hope you had fun at lunch:)

    4. The od Bette needs to come out at times. Having a temper doesn;t not hurt, Now she will need to get a new phone.so in a way she hurt herself..Glad that Tina was so supportive of Bette then she explain to Bette about what she said It was the doing not what she couldnt control. thanks

    5. Wow, I am sooooo glad that you had some extra time to write this. I am awestruck at your ability to write like this in such a short amount of time. This was a beautiful chapter demonstrating just how far they have come with their communiction. I am always left with wanting more of this story and yet you haven’t teased me once with a cliff hanger…the mark of a really good story teller!

    6. Great challenge to the relationship and it all worked out so smoothly — at least for these two. I hope these two get a break though – Kit’s right — they deserve a moment without additional stress. Anxiously awaiting family day and how they are going to tell the girls….

    7. Bette lost it for a second but pulled it together when she saw that Tina was 100% behind her and believed she did nothing to encourage Candace. Great chapter can’t wait for what comes next. PPS

    8. Awesome as usual..yeah painting, BF and wine don’t mix well. I found that out with cooking :) Have fun with your lunch, and just take it easy. Anybody ask about your painting..just say its abstract..:) PPS

    9. another great update! enjoy lunch! wow if candance causes to much trouble the gang will have to step in case tina needs a hand. cuz tina will sure take care of her if need be! :)

    10. WOW, you’re on a roll, newagegirl! I haven’t even managed to leave a comment yet to your last two, long and enjoyable chapters but then you came up with another good one. Talk about prolificness! I’m really amazed. You write when you’re under pressure from your important project, in the middle of the night when you can’t sleep, when you’re pissed off because of botched weekend plans and before or after painting your kitchen. WOW! I salute you, newagegirl! Btw, a million thanks for granting my requests! You know, I started squealing when I read Tina and Bette’s recollection of the night when they first made love. I was beside myself with joy because that’s what I wanted to read and you granted my wish! And you followed it up with the account of their first out-of-town trip to Moscow, Kentucky! Excuse my language but holy sh*t, this just keeps getting better and betterer!!! This chapter’s a good test for them. Ghosts from their past are bound to haunt them but the difference now is how they react to them, how they handle the tricky situations individually and together. Looking forward to the Saturday barbeque. :> I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the beautiful memories of their rings, their commitment ceremony will be in one of the next envelopes. This could segue way into the bitter, painful memory of the day they stopped wearing those rings. Thanks a lot for this update, newagegirl! And may your Muse continue to inspire you whatever real life crisis or inanities you’re dealing with right now. PPS. :>
