    Chapter 37

    Tina

All in all things were going well. Bette and I were talking a lot and she and Angie were really bonding with us all being together full time. I assumed, of course incorrectly, that things would settle into a nice routine that we could move forward with. The past has a way of continuously haunting us though.

Family night was scheduled for Thursday but both Bette and Alice had appointments that they couldn’t reschedule so we moved our night to a Saturday barbeque instead.  This change was good for Bette and I because it gave us more time to plan how to tell the girls.

Bette’s therapy appointment with Suzanne had gone well. She and Suzanne had discussed the pace of which we were moving things and after hearing another opinion, Bette was not as hesitant about my going back to the apartment as I felt she had been. She told me that she had thought me going back there would slow our reconciliation down but looking at it from a different perspective, it may actually help us since we would have time to miss one another in the interim. It made me feel more secure about the decision, hearing her express that she too was secure in it. She scheduled her next appointment with Suzanne in three weeks to include me. I was looking forward to meeting the person who has helped Bette so much in the last couple of years.

Thursday night she had an unexpected fundraiser that she had to attend. Phyllis was scheduled to go but was feeling ill so Bette would need to go to represent the Art College. She called me during the day to tell me that she needed to attend and I offered to go with her but she said that wasn’t necessary. She only planned to stop in long enough to show herself before leaving and arranging a babysitter on such short notice could be difficult. I was somewhat relieved. Not knowing how we were defining ourselves at this stage would make for painful introductions that I’m not sure I was yet ready for. I know I’m not her wife. I think I’m more than her girlfriend. But we have told each other that we’re dating and not in a relationship. Once again, one more conversation that will be needed for clarification, especially as we will be able to be open about ourselves once the girls know on Saturday.

    1. I am savoring the back-to-back postings. What a treat! I love your writing style and find myself rereading paragraphs. Thanks for all the updates and enjoy the rest of your break!

    2. By some strange coincidence…you often write something that touches deep within my soul and that makes it extremely heartfelt. Amazing. Thank you again for writing.

    3. As always another truely amazing post! I so what you mean with the painting and friends and booze…just say you couldn’t decide which color, it worked for me for awhile anyway! lol Hope you had fun at lunch:)

    4. The od Bette needs to come out at times. Having a temper doesn;t not hurt, Now she will need to get a new phone.so in a way she hurt herself..Glad that Tina was so supportive of Bette then she explain to Bette about what she said It was the doing not what she couldnt control. thanks

    5. Wow, I am sooooo glad that you had some extra time to write this. I am awestruck at your ability to write like this in such a short amount of time. This was a beautiful chapter demonstrating just how far they have come with their communiction. I am always left with wanting more of this story and yet you haven’t teased me once with a cliff hanger…the mark of a really good story teller!

    6. Great challenge to the relationship and it all worked out so smoothly — at least for these two. I hope these two get a break though – Kit’s right — they deserve a moment without additional stress. Anxiously awaiting family day and how they are going to tell the girls….

    7. Bette lost it for a second but pulled it together when she saw that Tina was 100% behind her and believed she did nothing to encourage Candace. Great chapter can’t wait for what comes next. PPS

    8. Awesome as usual..yeah painting, BF and wine don’t mix well. I found that out with cooking :) Have fun with your lunch, and just take it easy. Anybody ask about your painting..just say its abstract..:) PPS

    9. another great update! enjoy lunch! wow if candance causes to much trouble the gang will have to step in case tina needs a hand. cuz tina will sure take care of her if need be! :)

    10. WOW, you’re on a roll, newagegirl! I haven’t even managed to leave a comment yet to your last two, long and enjoyable chapters but then you came up with another good one. Talk about prolificness! I’m really amazed. You write when you’re under pressure from your important project, in the middle of the night when you can’t sleep, when you’re pissed off because of botched weekend plans and before or after painting your kitchen. WOW! I salute you, newagegirl! Btw, a million thanks for granting my requests! You know, I started squealing when I read Tina and Bette’s recollection of the night when they first made love. I was beside myself with joy because that’s what I wanted to read and you granted my wish! And you followed it up with the account of their first out-of-town trip to Moscow, Kentucky! Excuse my language but holy sh*t, this just keeps getting better and betterer!!! This chapter’s a good test for them. Ghosts from their past are bound to haunt them but the difference now is how they react to them, how they handle the tricky situations individually and together. Looking forward to the Saturday barbeque. :> I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the beautiful memories of their rings, their commitment ceremony will be in one of the next envelopes. This could segue way into the bitter, painful memory of the day they stopped wearing those rings. Thanks a lot for this update, newagegirl! And may your Muse continue to inspire you whatever real life crisis or inanities you’re dealing with right now. PPS. :>
