    Chapter 22

    Previously:

    “Thanks for bringing me back into the family night. I had such a good time. I’m so excited about tomorrow that I can’t even think straight. Thanks for planning it. Whatever it turns out to be, it will be special because it’s with you.” She leaned over and kissed my cheek and pulled me into a hug. “I told you that hug would have to be finished,” she whispered in my ear. We stood under the star filled moonlit night and held one another. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.

    I barely slept last night but still woke feeling quite refreshed. It was date night and nothing in the world could put a damper on that. Tina and I felt so connected last night. I felt as if all of the feelings that I ever forgot that I had for her resurfaced and I know in wanting to be back with her is the right choice. She makes me happy but more importantly, I feel that I can make her happy.

    When she got home after leaving my house, she called as promised and we spoke briefly. She again tried her many ways to get me to tell her about the date but I stood firm in my refusal to tell her anything. I really wanted her to experience it as it happened as opposed to having an idea of what the plans would be. I know that she would enjoy anything but part of wanting to recreate a new beginning is to leave a mark in her mind about how special I feel that she is. Even had I allowed her to guess, there is no way in hell she would have ever been able to guess what the plans were. When I had initially made them, they were similar to how I did things in the past. We were slated for dinner at one the hottest restaurants in town then over to a play that was receiving rave reviews. When changes were needed to accommodate her work schedule, I realized that my plan neither included necessary time for us to talk but also, revolved around my wants and needs much more than hers. Thankfully everything I chose came together quickly and I know that we are going to have a wonderful time.

    1. This chapter was interesting. I’m kind of a new reader.. I only noticed it a few back and read through the old chapters. I was kind of mad at Bette for allowing Jodi to kiss her..when she is trying to date Tina even if it was a “goodbye” type. However, the date thus far really made up for it.

    3. i love how you’re telling this story… i see with other writers that they sometimes hurry into the TiBette lovey dovey scenes too fast… and as a reader i find it exciting and refreshing to be walking this journey with these characters… i look forward to the next postings…

    8. Oh…you had me at the door to Tina’s apartment when it was apparent that Angelica would be accompanying them on the date. I thought that would be the highlight until Tina opened her envelope. I literally cried crodille tears when I read Bette’s love note to Tina. Wow! I can’t even find words adequate enough to convey how touched I was by the romantic gesture and your writing of the scene. More, more, more…soon, soon, soon…please, please, please.
