-Around 8:00 Saturday night-

Bette’ sitting at the table working on some things for the upcoming week and decides to take a break and call Tina.  

Tina is home also doing work, she spent the day with her sister, and was now trying kept her mind off Bette when the phone rang.  She leaned over and picked up with out looking at the screen.

Tina: “Hello”
Bette: “Hey, it’s Bette”
Tina: a smile coming to her face “Hey! How was the rest of your day?”
Bette: “Ok, got some stuff done around the house. Nothing exciting. How about you?”
Tina: “I had lunch and went shopping with my sister. She takes a lot of energy out of me, I love her but some times she drives me crazy, you know?”
Bette: feeling that overwhelming sadness come upon her, softly “yea”
Tina: realizing what she just said “Oh gosh Bette I’m so sorry. God that was so insensitive. I didn’t mean to…”
Bette: cutting her off “Tina, its ok I understand.  You don’t have to censer yourself with me, I can take it.”
Tina: “I just don’t want you to think I don’t understand the pain you must feel. And I want you to be able to talk to me about it, because I’m here to listen Bette, whenever you need me”
Bette: “Thanks.  I’m ok, I just get this overwhelming sadness at times. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want you to talk to me about your sister, because I do. It’s just going to take me some more time before I can talk about Kit with out losing it.”
Tina: “ok well, you can lose it with me too you know”
Bette: “ok, can we talk about something else now?”
Tina: “of course”

They talked for another half an hour before making plans to have lunch on Monday.  After they hung up both women were counting down the hours till Monday lunch.  

-Monday, Bette’s office-

Bette was talking to a student that dropped by to ask her a question when Tina walked in.
Tina: “hey are you ready?” seeing the student “oh sorry. I keep doing that to you. I’ll be outside.”
Jackie: “It’s ok Tina, I have to go to my next class anyway. Thanks for the help Bette, bye” getting up
Bette: “No problem, let me know what happens with it.”
Jackie: “I will. See ya” waving as she leaves
Bette: to Tina “hey”
Tina: “Hi, you ready?”
Bette: getting up and walking around the desk “not yet, I just have to do one thing” she walks passed Tina and closes the door
Tina: turning to Bette “Ok want to meet me in my office when you are ready?”
Bette: “well no because I kind of need you here for what I need to do.” Walking to Tina
Tina: smiling “oh and what’s that?”
Bette: leaning into Tina “this” she takes Tina’s face into her hands and brings their lips together for a soft simple but necessary kiss “mmmm…..ok now I’m ready”
Tina: “hmm… well I’m going to need one more of those before I can go”
Bette giggled and pulled Tina in this time added a little more passion to the kiss.
Tina: pulling back “ok now I’m ready.”
Bette: laughing  “lets go”
