-The next morning-

Bette started to stir in the morning light; she moved her hand over her eyes to rub the sleep out of them.  Once she opened them she saw the blonde laying next to her on stomach and one hand under the pillow.  A smile came to Bette’s face as she recalled the events of last night, she put her fingers to her lips where Tina’s had been.  

Bette: thinking ‘gosh she is so beautiful.  I really hope last night wasn’t just because we drank too much, I don’t know what I would do if she didn’t feel ok with this morning.  But she does have that rule about dating at work, was this just a one-night thing for her? I hope not.’

Rather then over think the situation Bette got up to make some coffee, she was leaning on the counter with a cup in her hand looking out the window.  Tina had woken up to an empty bed and went in search of the sent of coffee, when she saw Bette in that faraway place she stopped and just watch her for a minute.

Tina: softly “hey”
Bette: turning around, smiling at seeing Tina “Hi, want some coffee?”
Tina: “I would love some” as Bette pored a cup Tina just watched, a little nervous of Bette’s reaction to the events last night.  Taking the cup Bette handed her “Thanks”
Bette: “sure, how did you sleep?”
Tina: “Like I drank to much”
Bette: “are you feeling ok?”
Tina: “Yea I’m good, this helps” holding up her coffee
Bette: “Good, do you want something to eat? I can make some eggs or we have cereal, or pancakes, or we could go get something?”
Tina: laughing at Bette’s nervousness “Bette, relax. I’m good, coffee is perfect.”
Bette: “ok”
Tina: “are you ok?”
Bette: “yea I’m fine.”
Tina: “are you ok with what happened last night?”
Bette: smiling “yes, are you?”
Tina: “very”
Bette: “even though we work together?”
Tina: “well you teach art not film, so I don’t think it counts”
Bette: laughing “I didn’t realize there we exceptions to the rule”
Tina: “well I think I can make one just this once. But it might help if you like take me out on a date or something.”
Bette: “I think I like that ‘or something’ option, what does that initial?”
Tina: “Well you are just going to have to take me out and find out for yourself”
Bette: “Ok then”
Tina: drinking the last of her coffee “can I use your phone to call a cab, I have to meet my sister in two hours”
Bette: “I can drive you to get your car, I have to go food shopping anyway”
Tina: “Ok, thanks”
Bette got changed and they drove to the Planet for Tina’s car, sharing light conversation on the way there. Bette pulled up along side Tina’s car.
Tina: “Thanks, I had a great time last night.”
Bette: “Me too. I’ll call you.”
Tina: leaning into Bette “yes please” placing a soft kiss on her lips “bye” jumping out of the car
Bette: softly “bye”
