Tina tried for over an hour to reach Bette on her cell and at her apartment, each time she was greeted with Bette’s voicemail and each time she left a pleading message for Bette to call her back, although she wasn’t hopeful that the call would come.
“Alice I would advise you not too look at me until I have had at least a few more of these” Bette raised her half drunk glass of Scotch and downed the remaining contents in one.
Alice and Dana had just arrived at the Planet to find a tipsy if not a merry Bette perched on a stool at the bar.
Before Alice could say a word Dana hastily placed her hand over her girlfriends mouth and dragged her away.
“What did you do that for” Alice asked once Dana had removed her hand and they were a safe enough distance from Bette.
“By the looks of things I’m guessing the baby conversation with Tina didn’t go so well” Dana
“Huh…what baby conversation”
“Alice do you ever listen to me”
“Only when your talking dirty”
Trying to take her mind off her earlier behaviour towards Bette, Tina turned her attention to her fathers e-mail.
If a meet was what he wanted she would oblige, she needed this confrontation, she needed to be face to face with the man who had abandoned her as a baby simply because she needed to know why.

“Room 101 please……Mr Kinnard…..Thank you”
“You think it’s safe to go to talk to her yet” Alice whispered.
“Just leave her Al, it won’t be long before she passes out and I don’t have to fear for your life”
“But…”
“No Al ….I mean…” Dana is cut short when her cell rings.
“Hey Tina…..what your meeting him tonight…..Bette’s here….Tina wait……fuck…fuck…..fuck”
“What” Alice is bursting at the seams dying to know Tina’s end of that conversation.
“This is not good Al….this is so not good….Tina is meeting her father tonight and she’s on her way here to pick up Bette to go with her”
Both girls turn their heads towards Bette who can only be seconds away from tipping off her stool.

Excellent. Truly, truly excellent. Tina was a bit of an ass. She really should have given Bette the chance to say whether or not she wants kids. It’s not like EVERYTHING everyone says actually means something
