    Upside down – Shalice in Wonderland – #2 – Down the rabbit-hole

If you try to describe happiness: it’s something
intangible that slips through the cracks of your fingers.

    Far Away by Ayumi Hamasaki

About 10 hours later that same day, Shane was knocking on Alice’s door
with one hand while holding a six-pack of beers in the other. “Al?” she
shouted over the bad 80′s pop booming out of Alice’s place and chuckled
at the thought of what was probably going on in there. “There’s no way she’s gonna hear me over all that noise,”
she thought, imagining Alice jumping around, singing along with the
song. And there it was, Alice’s voice, more out of tune than she’d ever
    heard it before.

“I used to think maybe you loved me, now baby I’m sure, and I just
can’t wait till the day when you knock on my door,” Shane heard her
    sing and burst out laughing.

“THEN OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!” she shouted back through the door and then
heard Alice go quiet for a second before going on with her so-called
    singing.

    “I’m walking on sunshiiiiine whooooa!”

“ALICE!” Shane shouted, banging on the door while laughing so hard her
eyes filled with tears. She just couldn’t stop it, it was such a
typical thing for Alice to do. Then suddenly she heard the sound of the
door being unlocked and Shane quickly grabbed the handle and pulled it
open to find herself face to face with Alice who still was singing.

“AND DON’T IT FEEL GOOD!” Alice stared back at her laughing friend
while her own face turned bright red. “How long have you been there?”
she chuckled self-consciously and rubbed her nose.

“Long enough to hear your little performance in there,” Shane chuckled
and wiped some tears from her eyes. “Too bad I didn’t get to see it
too, it made my day, I’m serious!”

“Oh, shut up!” Alice sighed and walked back inside. “And come in. So, I take it you’re feeling better now?”

“Yeah, thanks,” Shane nodded and calmed down a bit, though still with a
big smile on her face. “I’m fine. Hey, The Chart was great today.”

Alice turned around and gave her a surprised look. “Aw, thanks Shane! I
had no idea you even listened to it! I have to do something about my
commentator voice though, I sound like a total geek.”

“No, no, you sound sweet,” Shane nodded. “But I have to say I prefer
your normal one. And ” She turned serious. “Thanks for not mentioning
the stuff about me and Carmen and Gabby.”

    1. Shall be nice and comment, like I said before, I like this fic even though I don’t really get Shalice. But the chemistry between your version of Shane and Alice is great! Makes it very enjoyable to read.
