Battle Royale 3 – The L Word Version – #5 – Everything is a lie
Alice suddenly stopped and turned around to stare at her girlfriend. “Dana… Did you even turn the phone on to see if it had any reception? I don’t remember you doing that.”
Dana stared blankly back at her, realizing she was right. “Oh fuck!” she sighed and pulled the tiny phone out of her pocket, flipping it open and pushing the button to turn it on. “I can’t believe we forgot,” she said quietly while waiting for the card to load. “It was nice though.” She smiled cheekily at the blonde and pulled her closer for another kiss.
“Sure was.” Alice smiled back at her, forgetting the situation they were in for another short moment. The kiss deepened and Alice let out a quiet moan before reluctantly pulling away. “Is it working?” she asked, nodding at the phone.
Dana held it up and they both looked at the small LCD screen. “Nope,” she shook her head, pursing her lips. “But it’s not like we expected that anyway, right? You know… Why couldn’t they give us real weapons?”
“Maybe…” Alice started and took off her backpack, beginning to dig through it. She took out her map and the torch, as well as the compass. “Maybe…” she repeated and Dana looked at it, trying to figure out what she was doing.
“What, baby?” she asked. As usual, she couldn’t follow her girlfriend’s train of thought.
“There’s a mountain over there,” Alice explained, pointing at the map. “Maybe the phone would work there, we could try, right? What have we got to lose?”
“You’re right,” Dana nodded. “Let’s do…”
She was interrupted by a scream coming from somewhere deep inside the tropical forest, and they both turned in the direction of the sound, shocked and worried.
“That sounded just like Carmen!” Alice exclaimed and took off running into the darkness, leaving a startled Dana behind. Her friends were in danger, and she wasn’t thinking. Not until she heard a loud beeping right under her ears. Alice stopped dead in her tracks and turned back to look at her girlfriend who was just staring back at her with fear written all over her face.
