Trouble in Designer Suits Ch.34
The reactionary smile on the three adult faces seemed to be all the answer she
needed as she started to get ready, making Libby her more than willing
assistant. Maybe this morning was gonna go smoothly after all, I t seemed Tina
and Rachel may have foreseen the issues that we had missed and planned to make
sure we had what we needed.
It must have been the gorgeous smells that started to waft from the kitchen that
finally drew the remaining residents from their slumber and we were all sat
round the kitchen table feasting on the great food that Katie had cooked us.
And I was right; Andy was glowing, and seemed calm and relaxed. It was a great
day to be here laughing and joking and knowing that this was just the beginning
of what would be one of the best days of my best friends’ life.
————————————————–Andy———————————————–
Bette and I had been up for a while she had been entertaining me with tales of woe
from some of the other weddings the group had had over the years, but the gist
was that on the day it all came good and the happy couple got the wedding they
deserved.
I was still chuckling over the tale of how they had lost Dana after the rehearsal
dinner and had to hide this fact from a less than calm Alice until they got a
call that she had slept in the country club locker room after getting a cab
there in her drunken haze and passing out. When Holly came clambering up on the
bed only slightly taken aback at finding Bette there with me instead of Rachel
but seemingly not to shocked that she wouldn’t join us, I suppose it was
Bette’s house after all maybe the bigger shock was that I wasn’t Tina.
Shortly after that the kitchen called to us with smells of breakfast and the happy
sounds of our friends waking up to a good day. We joined them and with Holly
sat beside me Katie served me what could only be described as a proper full
English breakfast. It was a perfect start to the day. And I realized that for
the first time possibly ever I took it as just that and wasn’t waiting for the
other shoe to drop.
We all sat otherwise occupied by filling our stomachs until Libby broke through
the sounds of cutlery on china that had been filling the room.
