    Tribute – Chapter 7

    Previously:

Tina pondered for a few seconds the different phases of their banter and realized how indeed, she also had unconsciously misled Alice into her own thread of thought. After all, she should know Alice enough to know that this kind of misunderstanding was close to routine for her…

That thought brought a smile to her lips, and with it the realization that the whole thing was very comical. She suddenly burst out laughing and gently slapped Alice on her back to show her that the situation was nothing but funny, and that there were no hard feelings. It took Alice a few moments to recover from her embarrassment, but she finally succumbed to the laughter, soon joined by everyone around the table.

Bette was the first to recover from the hilarity and decided that Alice deserved just a little more teasing

    "So, role play, huh?"

    Chapter 7

After stuffing themselves with pizzas, the girls decided to take a break before dessert and they all simultaneously relaxed back in their chairs with an audible "pfew!". They looked at one another and all burst out laughing.

Alice finally straightened in her chair and turned to Bette.

"So, Porter, we now have you as a potential stand-in for Martin Sheen, Richard Gere, and Julia Roberts, right?"

Bette looked at her expectantly, just like everyone else around the table. Glad to have the attention, Alice continued.

"Right! Now how about Karate Master, Chuck Norris?" Alice offered, with some strange gesture of her hands that was probably meant as a karate move, but looked more like she was chasing flies in front of her face.

"I’m sorry, what’s that now?" Bette asked totally confused. Alice really was a pro at sharing some of her weird thoughts, but they usually were somehow related to their conversation … until just now.

    "Chuck Norris… Al?" Tina repeated.

"Sure!" Alice looked at them all, incredulous that no one seemed to follow her.

She rolled her eyes as she proceeded to explain.

"Errr, guys… you know this fic ‘Unusual meeting’… taking place in Texas… Bette is a cop… Well, … ya know… ‘Porter, Texas Ranger’!!!"

    And finally, the light was!

    1. Waouh ! Etonnant, K ! Welcome back K ! Beau travail une fois de plus !

    2. Hey K, I didn’t have time to comment after your last chapter, (yes I too experience the high stress that blows through every Septermber) but I wanted you to know your XF challenge wasn’t a total flop! I did catch TXF reference. Don’t know what episode it is from but I think it’s from season 8 and it’s something that Scully wrote while she was in the hospital with her “cancer.” “But some invisible higher force, call it destiny, had decided otherwise and Dana’s cancer had gone into remission… And in the months that followed, Bette had come to realise that the invisible force that had actually saved Dana might simply be called love.” I think that alot of people are so quick to read your excellent story that they forget to read the comments first (plus everyone seems to be racing to see who can post a comment first!) LOL!! Anyway I love this story – the twist you have taken in writing about the fan fiction itself is very interesting. I enjoy all facets of your writing, whether it be loving, sweet, sexy, or funny, it’s all good. I love the way you portray B&T’s love for one another – that connection that they share the best; and the closeness that they all share as a loving group of friends/family is perfectly written as well. I’m so glad that the September winds have started to die down, and I hope October quickly slows down to a gentle, comforting breeze for you. Can’t wait for your next post!

    3. Alright Kword75, someone else will now be adding your ff story to their ff story when writing about their favorite ff stories. (Did I make a bit of sense?)
