Bette found such a tenderness in Tina’s eyes. "Anytime, T."
"But I said I would make it up to you," Tina sighed with a smile, "And you’re so sweet … I just can’t keep up."
Bette chuckled, "Mmm you win."
"I don’t win," Tina smiled, taking a breath in at the sight of Bette. She never could get used to how beautiful she was. "But maybe I can make it up to you next time I see you?"
"Sure," Bette smiled.
Tina leaned in to give Bette a kiss before opening her door. "Thanks again."
Bette nodded.
"Hey, will you call me when you get home?" Tina asked, getting out of the car and leaning down to lock eyes with Bette again, "I want to know you made it home okay."
The brunette chuckled, "I don’t think you’ll be awake much longer."
"Heyyy," Tina pouted again, "I will so."
"I’ll call," Bette smiled, "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," Tina smiled back, walking to the door and getting before giving Bette a small wave goodbye.
It was always a nice ride back to her house after spending time with Tina, because she would recall everything about the blonde and it would make her smile. She enjoyed the cool summer night all the way back. As soon as she got in and locked the door, she dialed Tina’s number.
"I know you’re sleeping," Bette mumbled to herself as she walked to her bedroom and fell onto the bed with the phone in her hand.
Tina’s phone rang about five times, and just when Bette was about to hang up and let the blonde rest, she heard a groggy voice.
"He … hello?"
"Hello," Bette chuckled, turning onto her side. "So much for not sleeping, hey?"
Tina smiled, trying to will her eyes to open. "I will have you know, I am one hundred percent awake."
Bette shook her head as Tina brought the comforters up to her neck, already laying in her pyjamas.
"Do you always stay at work so late?" Bette smiled, adoring how tired the blonde was. Bette loved being able to take care of her.
"No … thank goodness," Tina said quietly, her voice still hoarse, "Just every once in a while."
Bette smiled, "Well that’s good to hear."
"Mmm."
Bette chuckled again, "Well, I’m gonna let you sleep Tina."
"Nooo," Tina pouted again, forgetting Bette couldn’t see her.
"Don’t pout at me," Bette laughed again, "I can hear that, and you know what that does to me."
Tina smiled into her warm comforter, "What does it do to you?"
Bette laughed, "You’re tired."
"So are you," Tina defended in a small voice.
"Me?!" Bette laughed again shaking her head. "Hey, can we hang out tomorrow?"
"Mmm sure," Tina smiled, her eyes still closed.
"Okay, well call me tomorrow then, okay? We’ll plan it when you’re fully conscious."
Tina laughed at Bette’s teasing. "Ba-zing."
That only made Bette laugh harder. "Ba-zing?"
"Yeah."
"Goodnight T," Bette smiled, bringing her hand up to her forehead.
"Night Bette," Tina smiled back without even realizing she was doing it. She was alseep within minutes of hanging up.
Bette put the phone down and felt Tina’s fatigue rub off on her. She fell asleep in her clothes that night.

Tina is so lucky that Bette is her girlfriend. Bette made an effort to get Tina home safely. So Bette and Tina are now official GIRLFRIENDS.
