    “You told me that you loved me and you kept fucking him so you could have a baby?”

     “Bottom-line is that you love her. So what’s the problem Alice?”

    “Where do I start? The first problem is my job. It keeps me away from her, long hours daily, and now these two weeks away from her have been terrible. We didn’t part on good terms and we haven’t spoken since I left. Actually, even when I am here, we don’t really get to talk. I can never bare my soul to her…”

    “And I bare my soul to Tina daily save for the past two weeks. She never really responds in the way I want her to. Well, okay, she did once before I left.”

    “What happened?”

    “We had a fight. I said some things that I should not have said and some that I wish I had a long time ago. She walked out on me. But she came back a few hours later and we had the best make-up sex.” He grinned fondly at the memory.

    Alice grimaced. “Okay, alright, TMI. So what’s the problem?”

    “She retreated back into her shell in the morning.”

    “So what is stopping you today, Eric?”

    “I can ask you the same question,” Eric pointed out.

    Jack had delivered on his standard hunch–two strangers, one circumstance, friendship and then problem-solved—by getting Kit to switch Alice’s ticket for a later flight and ensuring that Eric and Alice sat together.

    They both sighed dejectedly, temporarily wallowing in their misery.

    Bette’s Office In New York

    Tina was sitting in Bette’s lap, her eyes scanned the resignation letter that Bette was gleefully dangling in front of her.

    “Let me get this straight. You went to see Helena?!”

    “Yep.”

    “And Peggy Peabody just gave you a job plus compensation to protect her daughter? So now you can just call it quits on this job and can have your own gallery?”

    “Er, yes, why does it seem like you are not happy?”

    “That’s not it. Helena is dangerous and demented. She should be in prison Bette, for what she did to you.”

    “I know Tina. She took away something precious from me. Sleepless nights, days of anguish and years of pain and trauma. But I’ve thought about it a lot ever since you came into my life again. It doesn’t matter anymore. It’s in the past. I can’t keep looking back there Tina. I am more concerned about our lives right now. We need to live in the present and figure out how to build a future together.”

    1. I have been desperately waiting for an update on this story. It seems that you have gone in slightly different direction that I remember as your teaser in one of the previous chapters, but I hope that it is going to have all parties happy in the end, and you take a different road than the Bollywood movie this story is based on. Thank you for coming back.

    8. Oh gosh, this pregnancy could be a mixed blessing for them. Tina needs to leave Eric and not tell him about the pregnancy because he will never leave her alone if he finds out she is pregnant. Both of them needs to get a divorce quickly and Tina never needs to see Eric again or he will know that the child she’s carrying is his. Of course, there would be no drama if all this happened the way I would want. So I will pin my ears back and wait with baited breath to see what happens next. Maverick, hope you got all your problems worked out. So happy to have you and the story back. Thanks for posting.
