Till We Meet Again // A B/T Beginning Story Chapter 30

“Ha! Dear god – I would, if she was willing to part with those. I accidentally discovered them in her studio one day and she was less than pleased. And I knew that her feelings for you ran pretty deep.”

“Oh…I haven’t been there. Were they any good?”

Of course they had to be good—Bette made them.

“Don’t let it get to your head darling. You are right about one thing though. Bette is extremely talented. She’ll probably be a case of posthumous success worth in the millions.”

Tina stopped abruptly and pulled back from Helena trying to calm her nerves, who only looked at her questionably.

“Sorry, I am just really fatigued and a bit dizzy,” Tina tried to cover. “That’s what I don’t understand. I know she’s talented, so why is she still struggling? I have seen and heard of artists with less talent and ability than her who have made it big. I don’t think we can attribute her failure to her stupid knee injury.”

“Let’s take a break,” Helena took hold of Tina’s elbow and guided her towards the bar again. She ordered herself another martini while Tina just requested a glass of ice-water, to cool down and calm her nervous energy.

“I’ll tell you part of why Bette is struggling. Yours truly hired some art critics on the payroll to trash her work. And…” she paused, frowning at her drink, “I would make sure to buy any painting that she produced so…” Her speech was slurry, vision unclear. She motioned the bartender over again.

    “I don’t feel so good…”

Tina looked on at Helena, completely flabbergasted once again. She fought the urge to dump the glass of icy water on Helena’s head, drag her into the alley and kick more than her ass.

“You…you ruined her career?” She could not wrap her mind around it. How can a person stoop to that level to get what she wanted?

“Tina…” she tried to grab onto her for support, missed and fell to the floor, passing out.

Tina resisted the impulse to just leave her there. She looked at the glass of Martini and looked back at the bartender for an explanation.

James just winked back at her.

    1. OMG! OMG YOU LEFT IT THERE? unfuckin’ believable how ur connecting everything, love it… on another note no matter what you write you can’t please everyone, this story is amazing and this fan will keep reading and following anything you write.. :)PPS

    2. ha ha Mav 2 things #1 gay-jacket OMG kill me….. #2 I totally agree with your statement at the beginning of your story… Good for you. Sometimes following your heart leads us into trouble but it sure doesn’t stop us going there. Right or wrong is a hard one I always say….. great post!!

    3. Oh and by the way… Great author’s note! People are free to like or dislike a story, and yes, sometimes people can be disappointed with a twist or the direction that the story takes, but you know what?… THEIR problem, not yours! When an author takes us on a journey, they decide of the itinerary. If whoever is not happy is free to get off the car!…

    4. I always love how authors use James in their stories, and I just adore him in yours… Well done! Now, it seems that Tina knows everything there is to know about Helena’s scheme… The question is, is she gonna succeed in unveiling her evil streak? I can’t help but think that even so (and I hope she will), there are still a lot of obstacles for our girls to overcome before they can find their way to each other… If they ever… But I trust the vines… Oh shiut, wrong story! ;) K

    5. I must learn not to read new chapters from you before I head off to work. They tend to stick with me all day and I have to fight the urge to re-read them numerous times to savor all the drama/intrigue/love/hate/mystery. Adore the flashbacks – they’re slowly piecing together an incredible story. I’m with beachlife – I will continue to be your faithful follower. Cheers – LG.

    6. Where’s Bette going? I hope it’s not chez Peabody. I know Tina wants more proof, but if she can’t get it, will she cease and desist whatever she’s going and tell Bette all of what’s going on? And what’s the “inevitable” you’re referring to? I’m really, really hoping there isn’t some horrid, horrid thing about to happen. Please post soon, I’ve got too many questions, not enough answers…. Thanks for the chapter.

    7. This chapter is so well written and very close to the end. I have missed them together in your beautiful story, the closeness they share, and the easiness they spend their time together with. It’s so heart warming and perfect, you are as you said you were M, you write the two of them so well, and I think the reason is, you think and feel love when you write them, it comes from the heart and there is no better place to write anything from. You know, the chapter that I don’t see them sharing each other’s company in is cold one, cause there is no one in this story other than them that has the love and sensitivity that they have, even though they are the ones who are growing close to having another involvement outside of their marriage (which I don’t think will happen till they let the other people in this equation know of their intentions). I hope we can see them resolve whatever they have between them in the next chapter and spend a moment if not some time sharing their love and clearing the air. Thanks M, you are a great writer and I respect you for who you are. Wish you all the best. Love

    8. Gay jacket, that’s a good one. So James is the bartender, what the heck did he put in her drinks. Serves her right. Hope Tina finds what she is looking for, and hope Hel does not wake up and catch her snooping. Great update to this story and I still love it. If someone does not particularly like a story, they have the option not to read it. Keep writing, we love it. Can hardly wait for the next chapter. PPS

    9. Tina needs to get Helena to talk more and record it. Bette does deserve what Helena has done to her Pay back is hell. thanks Dont let anyone stop you from writting, them they win

    10. OK, so now that I’ve read all the comments above, what else is left to say ?… I too love your fabulous writing and I love this story. It’s both enchanting and riveting. And of course I’m with everybody who encouraged you to post as soon as you can. This is just too addictive. Can’t wait for more. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us, Mav’ ( if you don’t mind me calling you so ). And if I may be so bold as to give you some advice, just ignore the comments you don’t appreciate. Don’t let them get to you.
