Till We Meet Again // A B/T Beginning Story Chapter 19

Tina raised her eyebrows at the garter belts and for a brief moment, imagined Bette wearing one for her. She immediately got hot and bothered again, shaking her head furiously to clear the thoughts in her head.

Bette peered at her curiously. “Are you alright, T? Do you feel uncomfortable or anything because we can leave if you don’t want to be here?”

“No, I’m fine…I just needed to know…Bette, how do you know whether you are a lesbian? I know it sounds like a stupid question but at what point is someone lesbian or even bisexual—does harboring sexual feelings for a female friend automatically make you gay or is it something deeper than that?” Tina held her breathe as she waited for Bette to answer. She did not know how else to confront Bette about her feelings, how else to define what was going on in her heart and mind.

Bette frowned, deep in thought. “I think it is different for everyone T. There are certainly very straight women who do fall in love with other women but still identify as straight. And then there are women who identify as lesbians who end up with men. I really don’t bother with these categories. They are socially constructed and artificial categories, cast aside and marginalized as deviant and sub rosa aspects of sexuality—to preserve and protect the dominant culture. Why does love have to be defined in terms of straight or gay, black or white? Why can it not be just love between two people, any two people?” Bette ranted.

As much as Tina loved to hear Bette speak and would listen attentively most of the time, the answers she received did nothing to clear her confusion and quell her doubts. The fact that she could be straight and still attracted to Bette and even lusting for her, did not settle her disorientation about her sexual orientation, and more importantly, these dangerous feelings for Bette.

“…when Foucault said that homosexuality began in seventeenth century, he was not devaluing the gay experience prior to psychiatry or the state as critics have wrongly lamented. In fact, he was drawing attention to the taxonomy of sexuality—how the history of sexuality was becoming more marked by mechanisms and technologies of power, namely the hysterization of women’s bodies and psychiatrization of ‘perverse’ pleasure.…”

    1. OMG! OMG! OMG! Poor Tina! The incident between Bette and Alice was a little funny but Tina has got to be feeling humiliated. Eric is one dead man. I don’t even want to think about what Tina is going to do to him. Loving the story. Thanks so much for posting so many chapters all at once. It is an absolutely delightful read! PPS!

    2. OMG, I can’t believe you did that to our girl. Someone needs to rip the office phone from the wall. Bette was about ready to faint herself. Oh why didn’t someone stop her when she stepped into the houose, she didn’t deserve that. Eric the pantywaist fainted, serves him right if she just packs his bags and throws him out. While Alice is gone they just have to get their groove on. I don’t believe in stepping out on one’s husband or wife but in this instance both marriages are already over, someone just needs to move out so “our girls” can get their relationship started. Repeat after me, “shame, shame, shame,” for doing that to Tina. Oh, will she tell Bette about this? I can’t stand the suspense. Please Post very soon.

    3. Damn that Nadia interupting the beautiful kiss yet to be! I feel so terrible for Tina, but hope it is the final straw in ending the sham relationship between her and Eric.

    4. Wow, I love the build-up to this story! You’re really taking it somewhere, and I’m very interested and becoming impatient. lol. I would like to see these two go to each other for comfort and support and hold each other before it turns slowly into something else. I think their first time should be sensitive and slow. More realistic because that’s how great you’ve written this story so far. Thanks for posting!

    5. Damn Bette and Tina are hot and love it. Poor Tina at the house, funny eric couldn’t handle seeing Tina so hot, and he will be dead soon. Please post more, thanks!

    6. Just catching up on your fun story. – “Tina dragged Bette to Bed, Bath and Beyond and …” – Thanks to you we all now know what the ‘Beyond’ part is… ;-)

    7. C’mon Mav…Bette had to drag her to the sex shop and propose the outfit after she was so exposed at triple B…LOL! I’m counting down until your next post…
