“what are you doing tonight?”

I said “nothing much, why what’s up?”

she smiled and said “you wanna go somewhere?”

I smiled and said “sure, where?”

she said “to meet my parents”

I backed away shaking my head saying “I don’t know T…I’m not good with other people’s parents”

Tina stood and said “I know, but how will you know unless you try?”

I said “because I know how it’ll be Tina…your parents don’t even know that your gay”

Tina smiled and said “of course they do…and you know what…they’ve been dying to meet you….”

I was flattered at the thought of Tina’s parents wanting to meet me but to be honest with you I’m not ready. She’s been asking me now for the last couple of months and even though we’ve been together for a couple of months I’m still not ready. I’m learning to deal with Christina and I’m fine with that because she’s a child. They are more easier to adapt to than adults. And who knows what they’ll say afterwards or what type of thoughs would be replaying around in their heads.

I would hate to be the cause of conflict. And so far I have been even through out the whole school. Ever since everyone found out that Tina and I were dating it’s been crazy ever since. Women are always in my face and even the dean gave me props slapping my back with his ape sized hand. “Ouch, hello I am human”everytime when he sees me. I thought for a second he wanted her for himself. But seeing that she’s not interested to know that it’s with another woman is a blessing to him. God only knows what goes around in that bald brain of his. Such a lame bird. So much has happened and I think personally that maybe she should give me so more time. I’ll come around eventually. But not now.

I said “you know T….I’m flattered really, but I don’t think I’m ready to meet them yet…I’m sorry”

Disappointment filled her face. It was like someone stole something very precious from her that she won’t be able to get back. I felt her sadness as it shot through my heart. I watched her eyes as they roamed from mine to the ground and then back up to mine again. I stepped closer and said “are you okay?…”
