Alice sits up abruptly to make eye contact with Charlotte. Charlotte nods. Alice jumps up to stand next to Charlotte. Charlotte starts to sing with Alice close behind.

The women wiggle their fingers back and forth in a scolding motion.

To see her is to

Take a sudden chill

Alice grabs her arms and shiver.

The curl of her lips

The ice in her stare

All innocent children

Charlotte gives Alice a glare. Alice runs to hide behind Bette. 

Had better beware

She’s like a spider waiting

For the kill

Alice pretends to be a spider weaving Charlotte in a prison of silk. 

Look out for Cruella De Vil

At first you think

Cruella is the devil

Both woman hold up fingers as horns, Alice dances behind Charlotte. 

But after time has worn

Alice pokes her head out from behind Charlotte, both women tapping on imaginary watches. 

Away the shock

Alice hides again.

You come to realize

You’ve seen her kind of eyes

Watching you from underneath

Alice peaks out underneath Charlotte‘s arm, both woman have their fingers curled around their eyes like glasses.

A rock!

This vampire bat

Alice runs over to Bette, hissing and flapping her wings. 

This inhuman beast

She ought to be locked up

Charlotte comes to Bette’s rescue, stopping Alice‘s effort to bite Bette. Charlotte mimes locking Alice in a cage.   

And never released

Charlotte throws the key over her shoulder.

The world was such

A wholesome place until

Alice rattles the bars of her cage and hisses at Bette.

Cruella, Cruella De Vil

As the girls stop sing, Bette stands up clapping and laughing. Charlotte takes Alice‘s hand to bow together.

            “Thank you, Thank you. I know. Please,” Alice puts her hands over her eyes in false modesty,” I know I am wonderful but please stop clapping you are making me blush.”

            Charlotte playfully slaps Alice on the back of the head.

            “Ouch!”

            Bette laughs even harder, a tear rolling down her cheek.

            “Did,” Bette tries to get her laughter under control, “you practice that?”

            Alice shakes her head, “Nope that was totally off the cuff.”

            Charlotte, who is standing just out of Alice‘s peripherally vision, nods yes at the same time. Bette shakes her head.

            “I am going to have to watch you two. You are getting along way too well. You know, Charlotte, she is going to get you in to trouble.”

              “What!” Alice curls up on the bed. “I think it will be the other way around.” She yawns.

            “Get some sleep.” Bette says, patting Alice‘s knee. “Charlotte, you want a glass of wine?”

            “Yes, please. I believe I deserve a drink.”
