Alice: (squinting her eyes suspiciously) “You know, if you’re not ready to
spill the beansjust tell me! What kind of story are you concocting here,
Porter? (laughing) You think this investigative reporter is going to fall for
that ***** story?”
Bette: (laughing that Alice has been so easily fooled) “Well, it was worth a
try!”
Alice: (looking at her watch and beginning to leave) “I’m late – meeting up
with Shane and Dana. I gotta runbut I’m not through with you! I’ve got my
spying eyes on you, Porter!”
Bette: (laughing, grabbing something from the cupboard) “Yeah, whatever. And
Althese are for you.” (She tosses something to Alice)
Alice: (catching the flying object in her hands and glancing at it) “You are
going to pay for this, Porter!” (She exits the apartment, waving a can in the
air)
Bette: (laughing) “Enjoy the Pork n’ Beans, Al!”
After Tina left Bette’s place she drove around trying to think things through.
‘How many more times am I going to run and leave her standing there?’ Tina
berated herself for leaving Bette yet again.
She knew she just needed to get away. “Around Bette, I just can’t seem to think
straight.’ Tina lets out a soft laugh at the words. ‘Think straightoh the
irony of it.’ Bette Porter constantly left her in a state she had never
experienced before.she caused Tina’s heart to race and stop, her mind to think
one million things and then go blank
Before Tina knew it, she found herself parked and staring at the calming waves
of the Pacific Ocean. She decided a walk on the beach would help calm her
nerves and allow her to reflect about what was happeningor rather, what she
was wanted to allow to happen.
Tina walked along the shoreline, closing her eyes briefly to absorb the sun’s
morning rays and took a deep breath. She looked around the beach and noticed
the scenery. Happy couples strolled in the sand, obviously enjoying laughter
and love.
‘I would like someone to share such moments with me,’ Tina thought. ‘I just
want to love and be loved.’
The emotions were overwhelming and confusing. ‘Since the moment you fell into
her arms, you knew there was something about her, Kennard.’ The problem was
figuring out exactly what that ‘something’ wasand if it should be given a
chance. ‘I know what I have to do’
Bette is refreshed from her shower and is towel drying her hair when she hears
a knock on the door. ‘GreatAlice probably has the girls with her and will
probably make me eat those canned beans until I spill them.’
Bette: (opening door, with an exhausted tone) “Look, how many more times are
you going to.”
Tina: (standing there looking fragile) “I knowI’m sorry to runagain.”
Bette: (surprised) “Tina.nono, I thought you were someone else.”
Tina: (unable to look at Bette and focusing on the ground) “I’m justthis is
confusing for me.I don’t”
Bette: (placing a hand on Tina’s arm) “Tina, it’s okay.”
Tina: (feeling the electricity run through her from Bette’s touch and gathering
up her courage) “I need something from you, Bette”
Bette: (looking at Tina with concern) “Anything.”
Tina: (glancing into Bette’s eyes and moving in closer as she softly managed to
get the words out of her mouth) “I needI need you to kiss me one more time.”

Bette: (smiling, knowing what Tina is asking) “Honestly, no.”

thanx 4 the post, gosh i just luv ur story, i’m a big fan of B & T stories, and this is 1 of my faves, i think is cute that tina is confused about it, i can relate to tina, straight but at the same time being treated so nicely by another woman, it’s just confusing, hopefully tina can make up her mind while i’m still stuck with my predicament, angain thanx for the post.
