Ch 11

Carmen’s home

“My movie starts shooting next week.” Cat tells me.

“OK, next week I am pretty busy, but I can come a few days after that.  Have you done any research for that role?”  I am planning when I can go to LA next.

“Yeah, I am meeting a few girls who were raped when they were young later to understand their psychology.  It’s going to be a very dark role.  I am counting on you to cheer me up every night!”   She says with a grin.

“No problem.”  I smile.

Day 32, 20 June

Dearest Carmen

I found a perfect house today!  It’s a three bedroom house, not far from here.  There is good size garden too, this is another reason why I love this place so much, I know you love gardens. 

It’s a little over my budget but the estate agent is confident that the owner will meet my offer price.  I can’t wait to tell you this.

Jenny told me that they have started shooting her movie today.  Since Cat is in town, I am hoping to see you around more often.

Shane’s Room

“Shay, come here.  I want to speak with you.” I say.

“Have I done something wrong?”  He asks hesitantly.

“No, no.  I want to tell you something about me and Carmen.”  I reply.

I motion him to sit next to me on the bed.

“You know last time Carmen came here, you asked us about our relationship.” I don’t know where to start.

He nods.  “Am I not supposed to ask you those things?”

“It’s perfectly alright to ask me relationship questions, but try not to ask in front of Carmen or Paige or …”  I cannot seems to find a better word than my girlfriends.  “or my girlfriends.” 

“Do you have more than one girlfriends at a time?” he asks innocently.

“No, I have one girlfriend at a time.  I try to anyway.  Carmen is my first girlfriend and before her, I do not do relationships.  I guess you can call Paige my second girlfriend, but we broke up last week.” I try to explain to him.
