    A B&T beginning

     

    "Aw, baby sis, I know you’re mad that I didn’t show up last night.  I meant to, I really tried…"

     

    "It’s fine, Kit.  Surprisingly, somehow it was a success even though you weren’t there."

     

    Kit knew she deserved Bette’s response, but she wanted to try one more time, "There was a chance for a gig in Santa Barbara so Roger drove me up there."

     

    Bette couldn’t help it.  The little sister seeped out.  "You had a job?"

     

    "Well, no.  It was just a big misunderstanding, but the club owner is a big fan.  He has an opening next month and is gonna call."

     

    Bette leaned her head against the high back of her desk chair. She knew she needed to let go of her expectations of her sister.  Bette could hear the excitement in Kit’s voice and could not help but love her for her optimism.  "I’m sorry about the misunderstanding at the club last night, but the guys a fan.  He’s going to call you soon."

     

    "I have a good feeling about that place."

     

    "I want to be there every night."

     

    "You’ll be the first person I call."

     

    "You’d better.  Hey, did you have a good time at the club anyway?"

     

    "Yeah, it was good.  You remember that Roger knows practically everyone and the few he doesn’t, I do. But I wanna hear about you, Bette.  Tell me about the opening?"

     

    "Kit, it was even better than I had hoped..  Almost everyone invited came.  There were reporters from the L.A. Times. LA Magazine, Art News, every publication. People stayed and stayed almost to closing. Half the photographs sold and there are holds on a dozen of the rest.  This is better than even the best show at Phillip’s gallery."

     

    "Baby Sis, I am so proud of you.  You are gonna wipe the ass of every gallery in all of the United States."

     

    Bette laughed, "I’ll just start with L.A."

     

    "In another year, every famous artist is gonna be begging to be shown."

     

    Bette laughed again. "It might take two years.  Tell me about your night."

     

     "It was one crazy night. Everybody knows that Roger makes these great sandwiches.  Remember, Baby Sis."

    1. Oh no, what is Bette F**king about on the phone or whatever? Something must have gone wrong. One of my favorite Bette laughs is in season 6, she was reading the text of Shane sleeping with Jenny while attending a faculty meeting. I love that laugh. I like Jane, keep her around.

    3. Jike, Tina’s tape isn’t hard believe. Because something simuliar happened to me. And I in no way concider myself “effed up.” But when you look at it who’s family doesn’t hold some type of disfunction. Like they say everyone’s normal until you get to know them :) No offense taken just wanted to point out that some strange and weird things can happen in a person’s life that really dosn’t have to have a great affect on their future. They don’t tell everybody on maybe nobody, no need to. Your future is what you make it, not what other people have done to you. Your choice. :)

    10. well, B&T story without Tina is one-sided…so bring me some Tina LOL anyway, great chapter…i remember season 1 and how Bette struggled with relationship with Kit…actually, while they were talking i was waitig for Bette to ask, “Did you drink?” LOL and the f-word coming from Bette’s mouth for some reason always welcome LOL great chapter even without Tina but now that we know she didn’t get caught in traffic, i’m getting more excited about her appearance

    11. LOL @ James being an FTM transexual. I’m trying to picture him as a female and that facial hair makes it so hard, hahaha. Poor Bette. Being Kit’s sister must have been tough. Actually, her whole family life was pretty neglectful, wasn’t it? It’s a wonder she lasted THAT long with Tina the first time around. (Then again, if we believe the interrogation tapes, Tina was even more effed up. But who would believe those?). Your writing is so great that I feel lucky to be first to comment :)
